It is most certainly going to hell. I love Rent, but I really don't see myself being able to sit through this movie.

And, I love Adam, but I'm not sure he'd pull off Roger as well anymore. I mean, he is almost 34. Roger's like... 20.

Chris Columbus said it in an interview he conducted with one of the online news sources. You can probably find it in the livejournal community rent_the_movie.

He's looking for "actors who can really sing."

I think it had a better chance with Spike Lee, hes a little more ... urban! Christopher Columbus, while I love his directing is a little too, well sweet for me. i mean Mrs. Doubtfire .... Harry Potter .... Rent - right. I just have a hard time seeing how that flows. Will the cast members all be small children?

But I do think some original cast members still look young...though I have no idea what Fredi Walker and Wilson Heredia look like these days.

There is still a sliver of hope that Anthony Rapp will reprise Mark. He and Chris C have worked together before.

The only people from the OBC I could see in the movie are Taye Diggs and Jesse L. Martin. I want Jai Rodriguez to be Angel!!!

Taye definitely could still do it.

Jesse and Daphne look WAY too old.

Idina still looks young...and Anthony does too (I think).

Yeah, Daphne's far too old to reprise Mimi. The character's supposed to be 19 (and look 16).

Jesse does look older but I've always thought of Collins as older than the rest anyway. Jai is perfect...pop culture appeal, experience in the role, and EXTREMELY talented.
