I'm not the hugest Sondheim fan but would be very interested in the Platypus/Octupus musical--platypuses don't get the recognition they deserve!
Ooh and if anyone really wants to procrastinate, count how many total headdesks there were yesterday.
"If there was a Mount Rushmore for Broadway scores, "West Side Story" would be front and center. It snaps, it crackles it pops! It surges with a roar, its energy and sheer life undiminished by the years" - NYPost reviewer Elisabeth Vincentelli
"What did you expect? It was a poorly directed, constructed movie with actors who are NOT screen actors. Despite the wonderful source material it was a HUGE ASS letdown."
Oh Gee! Look! A SCREEN ACTOR!:

Most of them are screen actors. Anthony Rapp has been in several movies, so has Taye Diggs and Idina Menzel. Jesse Martin stars in tv's Law & Order. There was nothing wrong with the acting. This is a very strong year for actors (Brokeback Mountain, Capote, Walk the Line, Good Night and Good Luck, etc.) that it is tough. I doubt Nathan Lane even really deserved his nomination.
(Especially to MB, who despite his pleas for Anthony to "let it go", persists in expressing his right to spread negativity and judging Rapp for "living off RENT". We get both sides of the coin. WE GET IT. There are usually moderators on message boards who throw jerks like him off before they spread too much negativity, in favor of spirited discussion that is respectful. Where's such a moderator now? MB's the one who needs to let it go.)
"Living off 'Rent'?" Without having followed one iota of Anthony Rapp's career until the release of this movie and a desire to re-visit and learn information about the OBC and their careers recently, common sense would tell you that since it's been 10 years since his original involvement and he's not homeless somewhere and presumably makes a decent living, he's "done stuff since Rent." From the little information I've retained about this talented individual, it appears he's done several plays and tours since '96, written a book, and has a new CD coming out. I wish people like MB would quit shooting their mouths off and think before they speak. Anthony's right: it's just rude.
"There is no use trying," said Alice; "one can't believe impossible things." "I dare say you haven't had the practice," said the Queen. "When I was your age, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast." --Alice in Wonderland

Very true BSo. Not limited to Jews either. Oh well.
