This needs to be a mind blowing home run to justify the price and requirements.
I have the feeling that it’ll be quite low budget and rinky dink. This whole thing has just been so tacky so far. Time will tell.

This whole thing reeks of mess to me.
As said above, what even IS it?!?! Is it the entire show…? Is it just vignettes? I have to show up in a damn ball gown after forking over $200?!
Hard. Pass.
I am PRAYING it’s like the Wonka thing in Scotland because that would be amazing.

I suppose there’ll be a bar somewhere in the building if it’s 21+ only. And the welcoming champagne just to get people thirsty for more at the end of the night, which is of course more income.
$195 starting price doesn’t seem ridiculous based on what the cost of sales might be (with licensing and probably high insurance needing to be paid), although I’d be curious about the maximum nightly capacity.

I’m sure it’ll be a “complimentary glass” of Korbel or Andre, too. How generous. Blech.

Wow everyone on here is so negative. As a long time Phantom fan I am on the edge of my seat waiting to buy these tickets. Love the marketing they have done as it's been so creative. Why come on here to complain? You haven't seen it or experienced it but have a whole lot of judgements. Just stay home and let us fans enjoy it.
^ I’ll let someone else take this one.

If they’re asking upwards of $200 for a ticket to something that they haven’t even revealed yet, they’re opening themselves up to criticism right off the bat. Plus the dress code and mask requirements which are just stupid. It’s all completely out of touch with the temperature of the economy and theater industry right now.
I will absolutely be staying home. No one is standing in the way of you enjoying the “show” or “experience” or whatever tf this is.

Sooo, a $35 bottle instead of a $20 bottle.
My point stands.

... and I'd guess a $6.99 bottle of Martinelli's Sparkling Apple Cider for the non-alcohol drinkers.. 🙄

It‘s a commercial enterprise in one of the most expensive cities on the planet. There is a cost of sales and I won’t hold it against anyone that they price their product to be able to meet the cost of those sales. No one starts a business to lose money.
Turn down your AC guys, it may help you think clearly.

I don't think I have ever paid less than $200 a ticket for a good seat at production. Some people enjoy dressing up, playing the part, getting into it. I doubt they are going to turn you away if you don't follow the "rules." The temperature of the economy? There is always someone that can't afford XYZ that doesn't mean you stop selling it.

Thinking clearly: there should be accessible options and there can be when the people who produce these shows are already extremely wealthy. Hope that helps.

Should should should. Spoken like someone definitely living in 2025. Accessibility is already there. Pay the price, get into the show. It’s at their discretion whether they offer anything at a discount but as basically a bar with a show attached, I wouldn’t expect them to.
Just because a producer may have personal wealth, doesn’t mean the LLC that has been set up is able to dig into that. They don’t enter into these to reduce what they’ve earned from previous endeavors. Every new enterprise has a budget. No one is going to say “Oh I’m doing okay financially, I’ll price this thing lower.”
Costs have gone up for many people in many areas. Maybe those increases have affected this production. Costs are passed onto the consumer. If people don’t like it, they can ask for a raise.

It’s that easy?!?! You just ask for more money and you get it?!?! Why didn’t anyone tell me?!?!

No ask, no get. It’s not unreasonable to ask for a cost of living adjustment. Get out of the victim mentality and be an advocate for yourself where it actually counts instead of all the “I want this for cheaper!” talk. Stop expecting discounts to just be granted as a matter of course..
Any rumors on an opening date?

It’s heavily rumored to open some time in the next 12-27 years.
Get your masks ready.

It must be nice to sit on your throne of wealth and privilege while looking down on the rest of us
Three cheers for corporate shill, BorisTomashevsky, who has saved us all from being unable to afford tickets to Masquerade (and possibly poverty?) by offering the sage wisdom of simply asking your job for more money. Someone is using both sides of their brain today!
Jokes aside, $195 base price is insane. That means the tickets will increase to well over $200 on in-demand days, pushing awfully close to Broadway premium pricing for all audience members. We’re all aware it’s a commercial venture and no one is owed accessibility by way of lower ticket tiers/discounts. But hey, I guess we’re all just cucks who don’t know our worth. Cost of living adjustment, here I come.

You don't drop the price before opening up sales. Rookie mistake.
If the "no heels" of it all didn't turn me off (grids? holes? obstacle courses?) and the requirement of a mask didn't turn me off, reading Boris's comments genuinely put me off wanting to see this show.
And I have the money and saw the OG three times before it closed. I'll wait for that to come back.

The insane assumptions that people on this board make about COMPLETE strangers’ personal lives will never fail to astound me.
You don’t even know my name, let alone details of my financial status. And to say I have some sort of “victim mentality.” Are you my employer? Do you know my income? Do you know when I last asked for a raise or promotion? You literally know nothing about me.
Your “get off my lawn, you ungrateful kids” attitude is really old and tired.
You are a snob, a buffoon, and a moron.
Sleep well.
Enjoy Masquerade, while I continue to make minimum wage and never ask for a raise so that I can afford a ticket, because I am a victim!!
