They are not selling tickets for the balcony. The rear mezz seems mostly sold for each performance. The front mezz, grand tier, and orchestra are practically ghost towns for each performance, at this stage.
I predict a cancellation of at least one performance if not all three of them. Most ofthe people who would have seen this will be in the Hamptons or Fire Island or Asbury Park."
Your post has not aged very well...

I’d rather have a post that’s not aging well than a show that’s not selling well.
This simply is not selling. Such a shame!
Wow. Well I guess the broadway run was cancelled for a reason.

I can't figure out why they added additional shows. I think Madge could be successful in New York, people just don't know who he is yet.
I really don't understand my he's disrupting his just begun Cabaret run for a week to play to 2/3 empty houses in NYC.
I can’t believe the show is this week and they haven’t dropped prices at all, even though sales never picked up.

Anecdotally, I know nobody who has said they are seeing this. I haven't even really heard it discussed at all. These houses look embarrassing and the first performance is in two days.
This maybe could have worked as a one-night thing, or a few performances at Soho Playhouse or a similarly small venue. They still have yet to overcome the main issue: Rob Madge is an unestablished performer here with virtually no following or name recognition.
I know one single person going but because he has to go to the dress. I’ve seen no advertising for this and we’ve known about it for months. I don’t get it - it’s not like they didn’t know Rob isn’t known here and won’t sell tickets, they canceled a damn Broadway run because of it. Yet, knowing that they book one of the largest stages in New York City and proceed to do absolutely nothing to make him a familiar face here.
And I say this as someone who KNOWS who Madge is, has seen them a lot and is seeing them in “Cabaret” in a couple weeks.

promo code FLASH for $49 seats ($39 + $10 fee), looks like it's side/rear orchestra along with the first couple rows and side/midway back mezzanine

I'm seeing it. Rob is a wonderful person and performer, and the concept of the show feels timely, necessary and like it'll be moving.
Perhaps now a discount code is out, some of you might consider supporting Rob's work, rather than sitting on the internet pouring salt in an open wound.
I’m seeing it Sunday. I don’t really know anything about it or the performer, but it’s a $28 Access City Center ticket. I’ll see almost anything there for $28.
I've aged out of the ACCESS code so thank you for posting the FLASH code today. I just bought a ticket! The other code I've seen around is QUEER20 and I heard it's been on TDF.

why does this show not seem to be clicking with buyers here, is it the title?

the ACCESS code now works for any orchestra seat at any performance for $28

The title is inspired from a lyric in Les Miserables musical, where Rob Madge performed as Gavroche.
I just checked and it's selling more the past day compared to the past 4 weeks. I'm not on TDF but hopefully teh rest of the available seats will be filled up with TDF folks.

My friend Erik just posted an NYT interview piece with Madge today (or last night). Might have stirred up some interest...
This thing is only one hour long? Thats what it says on the website, can that be right?

It was only around 70 or 75 minutes when I saw it in London.

Broadway Dreams Were Dashed, Then Rob Madge Knocked on Some Doors

I saw the dress and I enjoyed it immensely. It is a moving account of a young man growing up queer and longing for the stage with a supportive family who encouraged his uniqueness. It is very timely in a new world where a president is declaring that boys are boys and girls are girls. The script is thoughtful and is woven together with home movies and pleasant musical numbers that are performed professionally with a live band. If you are a queer person who found your people in the theater and defied the naysayers and you are looking for a feel good Pride vehicle, buy a ticket and then join your favorite people in hell’s kitchen afterwards to celebrate. The show runs about 65 minutes. The pace is brisk and the writing is full of humor. Happy Pride everyone!

By the time people climb to the balcony they’ll practically be turning right around.

They could've added the saturday show at 5 pm instead of 2 pm . Don't think I wanna waste my Saturday on an hour show.
