She kept breaking character in the second act with all the bad idea reprises and laughing so hard, even laughing through singing. She couldn't get it together. It was a little odd and really did take away from the brilliant work she had been doing."
I don't think that was the first time she broke character. When I saw it on 4/14, she also had a case of the giggles during one part. Interesting to see happen.

Same thing on 4/13! I believe it was right after the Bad Idea reprise. Now I'm wondering if she's really breaking character or if it's just a poor acting choice.

Most Jenna's laugh during Bad Idea reprise. So do the Dr Pomatters I've seen. I don't see it as breaking character. They are human and just laughing at the silliness going on onstage during that song.
To me it's like Popular in Wicked. Most Glindas and Elphabas end up laughing in that scene.

Thank the lord. I should not have slept on those Audience Rewards tickets. Oh, well. Sometimes you regret not taking the gamble. Noah Galvin seems way too young for Ogie. But they could just use a cardboard cut out of Christopher Fitzgerald and I'd still be happy just seeing Shoshana and Jeremy.

I just...I've seen the show many times and I don't remember Jenna giggling when she and Dr. Pomatter are lifted up. They kiss and then he like mimes putting an apron over her. It was during the kiss that Shoshana got the giggles. But I guess that was just her choice?

I saw the show with Sara and Gavin. Sara giggled during the Bad Idea reprise. But it was apparently because Gavin had flubbed a lyric.

I loved Sara and Gavin together. That was such great casting!
In case anyone missed this, it's absolutely stunning.

Jeremy Jordan & Shoshana Bean - “You Matter to Me”"
I don’t love the arrangement of this if I’m being honest, but it’s nice to get a recording of this song <3 I feel like You Matter To Me is so underrated!
It's a gorgeous song, just on its own. I remember taking a road trip with two of my non theater loving friends, and they both asked me to play it again because they both thought it was beautiful When I saw it live, sweet Drew had a very dry throat or something caught in it, so he had to keep clearing it the entire song, I felt terrible for him. I look forward to hearing Jeremy sing it live because it's probably much better in person.

Poor Drew! I find the entire YMTM scene to be really moving in Waitress, and YMTM is also such a gorgeous song also, that it’s a really lovely moment in the show. I think it really works if the Jenna and Dr P have good chemistry. I’ve not seen Shoshana and Jeremy together on stage so can’t speak for that. My fave version is currently Kat McPhee and David Hunter in the West End, because they have a really great chemistry together and you just really feel that their characters need and care for each other, and their voices mesh really well together also <3
According to her Instagram, Shoshana will be out for both shows this Saturday 5/4, as well as 5/10, 5/15, and 5/16.

Bummed to hear she is out tomorrow as I’m seeing the matinee. Anyone seen Molly Jobe as Jenna? Looks like she’s on as Stephanie Torns is on vacation.

I know this is a Shoshana thread, but was curious how Noah Galvin has been in his role in Waitress? I know there was some concern about how young he looks to play his character. People finding it distracting/unrealistic or does he end up portraying his character realistic/well? I really like him as an actor and curious to see his performance. Will probably try to see it this week.
Also super excited to see Shoshana and Jeremy obviously! :)

I was one of the many who was skeptical about his being cast, and let me tell you, I have never been more happy to be proven wrong. He was FANTASTIC. We laughed so hard and we saw the show twice this week, we came for Jeremy, but left with Noah being our favorite part about it. At the second show we were basically his biggest fan club. Now officially obsessed with his performance in the role. He played it lovably dorky and he and Caitlin were wonderful together. I’m so happy I went into it with an open mind to give him a chance because like I said he proved me wrong and I was so happy about it.

Stephanie is not on vacation. They are both listed as understudies for Jenna and Dawn. Stephanie goes on regularly as Jenna while Molly goes on more regularly for Dawn. That said Molly does go on occasionally as Jenna. She was fabulous on Saturday. Audience loved her.

Stephanie was on vacation early in the week as per her Instagram but yes she was in the show. And I agree Molly was fabulous. I’m really happy I saw her and I agree with the other posters: Noah was wonderful. He played Ogie perfectly and his age works with Caitlin. Waitress is still in great shape. The whole cast was on point. Jeremy Jordan was great. Played Dr. P a bit awkward but was as dreamy as ever. I loved my return trip to the diner
FYI, she's extended until July 7 now.

Saw them both on May 12th and they were fantastic.
I saw the show with Kat McPhee and I'm a big SMASH fan so I'm biased and liked Kat more, but Shoshana really killed She Used to be Mine. The audience clapped for several minutes. Shoshana has such a strong voice and really filled out every song. She was also funny in the background of some scenes, like her facial expressions were hysterical.
I didn't really buy Shoshana and Jeremy's chemistry in some scenes, even though Bad Idea was amazing. But I also didn't believe in the chemistry with Kat McPhee and the Doctor opposite her, so maybe it's just a character thing for me.
Gosh, Jeremy was adorable. So awkward, but not too awkward imo.
I'm happy Shoshana extended because she is def a strong Jenna!

Any updates on attendance or scheduled absences? I know it's always a gamble but I decided to just go for it and buy a ticket.
