So how has it been lately? Who's been during the past few performances? Are they still having to stop or have they at least worked that out?
so she admits the book needs work, but says its "much better than we expected"...
exactly how bad did she expect this thing to be?

This didn't occur to her during rehearsals or even during the workshops?
Taymor says there is work to do on the book?
So she DOES read Broadway World boards.
(and while we are at it, lets do some work on the book for Tempest, that looks AWFUL.)
yeah...what the hell did Shakespeare know?
To Julie Taymor,
Stop worrying if your vision is new.
Let others make that decision.
They usually do.
You have to move on.
Thanks for everything,
Julie Newmar
I'm surprised she is so taken aback by the bad press.
It's NY theater. She's not a novice. She should have totally expected the bad press.
Especially given the show's history.
"Better than we expected"?! Not exactly a glowing endorsement of the material. But then again, it was never about the material, I guess.
"But then again, it was never about the material, I guess."
Are you implying that she and Tony Kushner do NOT cultivate their work through similar processes?
hahahahaha so she admits the book needs work etc and she STILL can't catch a break on here.
^This.
You people are unbelievable.
Hey, im sticking up for Taymor, that's all.
I know! Exactly!

I had tickets for 2nd official night that wound up being a preview, and I'm in the process of switching them for a non-preview.
Any suggestions on seats? Has anyone been able to pull off an upgrade this way or are they being stingy with the premium seats because of the ridiculous budget?
My current seats were row D 6,8. Is the side bad or this show? If necessary, should I wait longer for orchestra center and run the risk of the show getting canceled?
Does anyone know if Natalie Mendoza is back in the show?

RUMORS!
People like to tell me things, and I'm going to share. I'm just warning that I have ZERO proof that anything I'm about to say is true.
Apparently, the producers don't expect to recoup, and they are being handed money under the table by the Spiderman franchise.
This can probably be proven by people who've seen the show:
Apparently, the actors who hurt themselves during the demonstration were not actors, but stuntmen. Apparently the actors (for the most part) don't actually do their own stunts. Apparently, none of the singing is done with masks on.
Apparently I really like the word "apparently."
Apparently, I also like scandal.
P.S. There's no way in hell that I'm reading 38 pages of this thread, so I apologize if I'm repeating anything that has been said.

"by the franchise"??
lol The Franchise is the new Mob
The Franchise meaning the Disney corporation?
"Hey, im sticking up for Taymor, that's all."
She's a big girl. She can do it herself. I'm sure she's flattered she's got you in her corner, though.
Don't you dare pretend like songanddanceman2's opinion on this board doesn't mean something to Julie. Don't you DARE.
We knew that there were several "spidermen" flying around -- that isn't new -- I'm guessing we suspected he wasn't the only one with stunt doubles.
The other rumour sounds ridiculous.

That sounds Right. On. Target. How else would it have gotten this far?
