I obviously have a lot of free time, and was talking to a friend and we agreed that Jessica's voice would be perfect for the role but we don't know if she can act it well or do a good NYC accent. I doubt she wants to work since she is comfortable with her billion dollar business. Any thoughts? Sorry for the silly post.

Sadly, Simpson isn’t much of an actress hence why her acting work stopped about 15 years ago. Her focus now is on her family and her enormously successful business ventures.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Well, to compare the vocal range of Jessica and Paris is literally comparing apples to oranges.

She couldn't do eight shows a week. But if they ever did another film version where all she had to was lipsynch to a pre-recorded track...
Though honestly if they were gonna fo that I'd rather they give it to someone like Christina Aguilera. Such a shame she hasn't given us another film after Burlesque. Actually, Aguilera is probably the perfect age now to do Mame. She would look fantastic in all those costumes they had Lucille Ball in.

Jokes aside, Simpson is super talented, and I wish she'd give us some new songs or at least a Christmas album.
I think she's up there with like, my diva of choice, Kelly Clarkson. Fantastic singers who know their limits. She clearly doesn't feel the need to "prove" anything to anyone or else she'd still be making music.

The vocal difference between Carol Channing and Britney Spears is not as wide as some old queens would like to believe. I say bring on the Dolly. I still think she should've gone into Charity like they wanted her to. As for Xtina, I'd see her Mame! Jessica too. It's not like we're talking about putting pop stars into Gypsy or My Fair Lady lol.
(Although in 15 years when the early aughts pop queens do Follies, I'll go to that too!
