I've been a hippie long before this "Summer of Love" thing started commemorating the 40th Anniversary of Woodstock. Thanks to parents who were teens in the 60s. I've been dressing hippie-ish since I was like 14. I'm gonna be 29 in 2 1/2 weeks. So I see people dressing bohemian/hippie-ish and I'm like, yeah guys. BANDWAGON!! LMAO

so i got SRO for this afternoon's show and i wasn't sure if Steel was going on(main reason i went)and lucky me he was! i loved his take on Berger. definitely more mellow then Will, but i totally loved it. the new stand-by, Matt, was also in the tribe today and he looks like he's been in the show since opening. he fits in perfectly minus the fact that he has short hair. i wonder if they're having a wig made for him and hes just starting early? josh lamon was on in the Hubert/Principal track. i LOVED his Hubert it was hilarious, especially when he was conducting the band during My Conviction, his principal could have been a tad funnier but still got laughs. jackie was out and brianna was in her track and i love her more everytime i see her in the show. every time i go it seems like more and more people tend to dress up as hippies. i usually wear my necklaces and my hair bandana.

I'm a professional. Whenever something goes wrong on stage, I know how to handle it so no one ever remembers. I flash my %#$&.
"Jayne just sat there while Gina flailed around the stage like an idiot."
i got there at about 10:50 and there were 2 people there in front of me. between 11:15 and 12 the line got pretty long. and i've been dressing kinda like a hippie for a while too like peace signs/necklaces that kinda stuff but now i am full on hippie. it's so fun. all my friends who don't know about hair look at me like i'm nuts i love it!

I totally love the title of this thread:) I was looking at hoodies to buy and I saw one that had a peace sign in a heart and I bought it because it made me think of HAIR. I also saw a shirt that said Don't Worry Be Hippie. I so need to buy that next lol Updated On: 7/19/09 at 09:36 PM
my mom's getting angry with my hippie thing, but it's really just something that I've always felt and just now started expressing. Like my friends and I have always been into it, we primarily listen to music from that time etc. I guess I just didn't express it to my mother till I saw Hair.
I really wanna see the show again aghhh. But I'm trying to wait til November, because I'm pretty sure my aforementioned mother isn't going to let me see the show an unlimited amount of times, and I don't want to waste a time without seeing Theo, and it's partly because I want a picture with him, because the night I went he came out at the same time as Gavin so I took a picture with Gavin while Theo ran away. blergh. And even then, I'm probably going to have to just place good faith in the lotto or SRO. And even then, my friend wants to bring her sister, and trying to get three people in through lotto is like impossible. So I guess I'll just have to wait a very longgggggggggg 3 months and pray.
Because I look different you think I'm subversive.
Hmm, it's so odd that I haven't turned into a hippie. I probably will start becoming a hippie sometime soon (drug-free though...I would never do drugs). I usually am somewhat influenced by the shows I obsess over, just a little. It's weird though, the show that has made me do stuff I would NEVER have done without it is 'The Rocky Horror Show'. Me and my friends are going to see the halloween screening of it and I'm either going to dress up as a transvestite or go in my underwear...only for rocky horror :)

OH..........MY.................GOD!!!!!! I saw it today and it was the best experience of my life!!!!!! I had Gavin right next to me chanting "Peace now, Freedom now!", received a daisy from Kaitlyn Kiyan saying "come to the rally", dancing on stage with Caissie Levy on the postcurtain call dance party. Oh my god I LOVED HAIR!!!!!!!!!!!! I want to go back so badly!! I am totally going back before I go back to school in August!!! To those of you who haven't seen it yet, GOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
sgv123 - you asked about cast drawing names, and yes, John Moauro drew names for the Saturday evening performance this week, I was just observing the lotto as I already had SRO tickets. He was adorable though, as he is in the show.
And SRO was great, audience interaction with Steel and several others at the Top of Act 2,as well as throughout and Hud walked behind and smacked everyone's butts and said "Its an ass buffet!"
Better stage view than the lotto seats definitely, and you see all of the orchestra interaction, but I do like the lotto seats as well for the unique cast interaction and being able to see *some* of the orchestra interaction as well as all of the Mezz.
Some people come into our lives and quietly go, others stay a while, and leave footprints on our heart, and we are never the same.
Well Broadwayunderstudies just says Saycon is on through the 26th. They're dark on the 27th, and if Sasha is "out until the 28th" then I'm guessing she's back on the 28th. I was really hoping that Chasten would go on as Dionne, though.
I've been at lottos where John Moauro, Allison Case, and Michael James Scott have drawn names. Possibly someone else, but I can't remember...
And I totally approve of "Starshines" over "Hairballs" if the fans need to be named...
Does anyone know how its determined which understudy performs?? For instance Saycon seems to always go on for Dionne instead of Chasten Harmon and Jay seems to go on more than Paris. Yet Ryan and Steel seem to split Berger pretty evenly. Are there 1st and 2nd covers or is it just random???
Wicked Tour (2/26/08); Wicked Bway (7/1/08); HAIR (7/1/09); Rock of Ages (7/2/09); Wicked Bway (7/3/09); Mary Poppins Tour (8/2/09); Wicked Tour (11/18/09); Wicked Tour (12/5/09)
It is not uncommon for there to be a pecking order. The longer the absence, the more likely that there will be split time, however.
I was always under the impression, that TECHNICALLY the stage manager is in charge of those decisions....but that really depends on how involved the director and/or producers are.
During the runs of SA it was seldom decided on by the SM.
However, I'm sure that there are folks here that could give you a more official answer.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

In the case of Jay/Paris, Jay was hired as the standby,so he goes on first.

Dancingthrulife04, that is exactly correct. If Jay can not go on for Gavin, Paris will step in. I haven't seen Paris sing, but I have been super impressed with all the clips of Jay and I would be THRILLED if I found out he was doing the tour.

Jay is fabulous. I haven't really heard much of PAris but I think he could be great as Claude also.

Judging by who's gone on, I'm pretty sure there are 1st and 2nd covers, with Jay the first cover for Claude, Steel the first cover for Berger (Ryan's only gone on once), Jackie for Sheila, Saycon for Dionne, Paris for Woof, Briana for Crissy, Michael for Hud, and Megan R. for Jeanie, although I don't think Kacie Sheik's ever been out. I think all the other u/s have only gone on once, if at all.
And LOVED Paris' Claude. I like how I've seen that, but not Jay's Claude...

Thnak for the info Viola...I'm not sure where I got the idea that Ryan has been on more lol
Although after looking at my playbill. I wonder why Saycon is first cover??? When she goes on for Dionne, then Nicole moves into Saycon's track and I assume Chasten moves to Nicole's track. As opposed to if Chasten goes on for Dionne, no other changes need to be made. Logically it doesn't make sense, but I'm guessing Saycon's experience/ability makes her the better cover.

TreyKenyon- That is why I am confused about Briana/Chrissy. From the playbills I have she is a swing and Kaitlyn is Chrissy u/s, but Briana goes on when Allision is out.
