My girl!!! I'm so happy for her! I just love that film Twitter and doubters are eating crow now that this film is being well-received. Idk how box office will be like, but hoping for the best! That's the last major hurdle... In the Heights was well-received and look what happened.
On Metacritic it's at a very strong 85 precent so far. Honestly reading these very positive/rave reviews made my heart soar to the point that I hope that it gets awards love and I haven't seen the film yet.
Honestly- this probably means this film is incredible.
Think of THE ENORMOUS HURTLE of a bad review of a remake of a Best Picture winner beloved classic this had to overcome. I've had knives out for this from the beginning imagine snobby industry film critics.

The soundtrack is already on Spotify and it is gorgeous. Rachel Zegler sounds very good, Ansel is there, serviceable. The best track has to be Somewhere by Rita and A Boy Like That/ I Have A Love. Ariana SANG that song, she owns it

I don’t understand the Ansel hate, I think he sounds great. Everyone does, with Rachel being the standout. What a beautiful voice. The orchestrations are fantastic as well, I can’t wait to see the movie!

100% agreed. All I can say about this soundtrack after listening to it, is that it's what the chef's kiss was made for. Everyone from Rachel, Ansel, Ariana, David, Mike, Rita, etc. are all giving their A game and the effort and hard work was worth it by bringing this unbelievably fantastic soundtrack that deserves to be played over and over again.
I was already excited for the movie, but the soundtrack shot me straight out of the solar system that's how incredible it is!

They just want a reason to justify their anger at him being in the movie.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

The inclusion of the “Somewhere Ballet” in the End Credits suite was such a pleasant surprise!
Keeping in mind that Tony in this version of the story is an ex-convict, I think Ansel sounds terrific and totally appropriate for this characterization of the part.
