Not really..the score of DOLLY is so well known even minor songs like "Elegance" and "It Only takes a Moment" would have seemed old hat. Here was a chance for a song that only a few people know to get some exposure.

Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com

What happened?
Sarah kept trying to talk to Cynthia while Frank kept trying to close the show and then he just sprang a request for Cynthia to sing and she improved a Tony's song because she is a goddess and a cinnamon roll.

Are the people confused about Bette really so out of the loop? This has been going on for weeks.

Wow, I still can't believe they did that with Dolly. That's such crap. Kudos to DHP for giving it his all, though. What a trouper!
Rachel Bay Jones's gown was the best! And her and Laurie Metcalf's daughters are adorable!

An amazing and well deserved upset for INDECENT!
Posted: 6/11/17 at 9:50pm
Really happy for Rebecca! Her work in Indecent is something not to miss.

Wow, a bit surprised about Direction of a Play. Sher's work on Oslo was stunning.

That speech from Rebecca needs to be remixed. NOW!

Posted: 6/11/17 at 9:53pm
WHAT? Not Rachel Chavkin? After the Dave Malloy snub?
Posted: 6/11/17 at 9:53pm
Whoa. I thought Come From Away would be shut out for good at this point.
Posted: 6/11/17 at 9:53pm
Ashley deserves that Tony! CFA is so intricate!
Posted: 6/11/17 at 9:53pm
Thrilled for Come from Away, but...RACHEL CHAVKIN NOT WINNING DIRECTION OF A MUSICAL?! Seriously!
I wonder if the vote got split between Comet and DEH on this one. Man...Comet is getting screwed tonight.
Posted: 6/11/17 at 9:54pm
Does this mean CFA is winning Best Musical?
Posted: 6/11/17 at 9:54pm
Wow. Direction of a musical was a surprise for me
Posted: 6/11/17 at 9:54pm
Wow, did not expect that. Love that CFA won for Direction, but Comet deserved it much more. Disappointing
Posted: 6/11/17 at 9:54pm
