Rachel Bay Jones looks so lovely in that dress.

RBJ is so freaking cute ?????? So happy for her!

Worst performance of the night Hello Dolly, thriller that Laurie Metcalf won.
Posted: 6/11/17 at 9:39pm
Rachel is such a star and is probably the best dressed in that room.

Kroll and Mulaney...I'm cackling!

It would have been nice to have something with the full cast...but I saw "Hello Dolly" last week and thought "Penny In My Pocket" was the best thing about the production. (Bette Midler simply doesn't deserve the Tony that Scott Rudin purchased for her.)

Wife though she was best on red carpet, so happy she won :)

RACHEL BAY JONES!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so so so so so so HAPPY for her. Her performance is so powerful and so emotionally true for a parent. Yay!!!!

God, only one WOC in the entire Rockettes performance? How horribly disappointing.

LOVED Leslie and Cynthia together!!!

Hearing Cynthia Erivo's voice is heaven on earth.
Posted: 6/11/17 at 9:43pm
Leslie and Cynthia just slayed my life.

Awful that they did not have a number with Bette singing, I was hoping for her to be wheeled in during the opening. Nope. I was hoping they would surprise everyone by having DHP followed up with Before the Parade Passes By.
I love Ms Midler, but she, along with her producer Scott Rudin, sucks for not agreeing to perform. I hope she loses the award to someone who is brave enough to actually play to the fans and sing during the awards ceremony. Embarassing for them all, the Tony committee, Ms Midler, producers of Hello, Dolly! You might as well call it Hell NO, Dolly!

All I could think of during that Rockettes performance was "did you stone those tights?" #LindaEvangelista4Ever

I would have liked more from Cynthia and Leslie. Great idea to pair them up though.
Posted: 6/11/17 at 9:45pm
Damn Leslie Odom Jr. slayed that number. Get this man back on Broadway!
Posted: 6/11/17 at 9:46pm
I'm trying to find something online but i still haven't found anything as to why Midler didn't perform. And she got there right after DHP's performance I mean what the hell????
Posted: 6/11/17 at 9:46pm
Poor DHP, that was terrible. And I guess because ANASTASIA didn't perform, they filled them in with the Rockettes? Disappointing.

Not really..the score of DOLLY is so well known even minor songs like "Elegance" and "It Only takes a Moment" would have seemed old hat. Here was a chance for a song that only a few people know to get some exposure.

Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com
