This is incredible, thanks for the link! I wished I had a chance to see them perform live on stage. Taye Diggs is just so damn fine.

I saw it a couple weeks ago when I found the website. I loved the chemistry that was evident from the stage (duh, their married) and thought that Idina looked so happy doing that song with Taye. He was holding Idina perfectly during the song and they looked like they belonged. Taye's singing was not very good. He had trouble with the high notes and that bothered me but he warmed up after a while in the song and hit the notes much better. What I really want to know about this clip is who snuck the camera into the theater? lol
Whoever did sneak in the camera, thanks!
I thought I would take a listen to some of the other songs, after being pointed to that site. OMG, some of those song performances are so bad! One of my favorite songs "Not A Day Goes By" was simply butchered. I had to quickly go back and listen to Bernadette Peters sing it again so that I could get Menzel's rendition out of my head. I liked her in "Wicked" but I am not impressed with some of this other stuff at all.
Oh God.
Her 'Not A Day Goes By' makes me contemplate smashing my speakers against the wall.
What was she THINKING?

It sounded like Taye cracked...
He had some better "acting" then just sitting there...
I still like JOey and Norb better, though...

taye playing fiyero was basically a ploy to get people to want to see the marrieds together...he was pretty good ( I love that clip)
Norbs was and will always be the best fiyero. If you have seen the show when he was in it you can see that idina had a great admiration for him and that they totally put in their all during ALAYM (which is my fav song in the show)
Joey McIntyre in Wicked was like what Rent is doing by hiring Joey Fatone, Drew Lachey and Mel B. its a bad ploy (except that wicked didn't need the money) I saw joey on his final performance (the very famous 1/9 show) and he was horrid. I love him, I have one of his albums, but this part wasnt for him...i was so disgusted

Wow. That key...hmm...well, they looked cute together...
Well...not a big fan of the key or Idina's part but I think Taye did a pretty good job on the lower notes, added some originality to it but not so much on the high ones. Wow.

Well, I have a few thoughts. First of all, I saw Taye in the part back in December 2003 (wow, that seems like a long time ago) and I was a little hesitant when I found out he'd be in it (because I hadn't yet discovered the wonders of TWP and I was worried that they had just stuck him in there b/c he was famous and married to Idina) but I thought that he was WONDERFUL. Really, I did. Much better than the clip (the sound on those clips always sucks, though).
I also saw Joey McIntyre later on, and thought he was so-so. Norbert Leo Butz I unfortunately never saw (considering that he is my favorite Broadway actor of all time). But the truth is, although I like Wicked a lot, I just think that Fiyero (in the play, not the book) is an extremely blah character. I like ALAYM a lot, but he really doesn't do much else, and to be honest, I thought that the part was a waste of Norbert.

I don't mean to be rude but how anyone (like FabalaYero85 for example) can find Taye's singing better than Joey's is just beyond me. Taye just couldn't cope vocally and I'm not just judging him on this clip. He was terrible as Fiyero and just totally mis-cast.
I'm happy to accept when people say they didn't like Joey for whatever reasons but give the guy some credit... his portrayal of Fiyero (especially the singing) was far more superior than Taye's.
If people honestly think Taye had a stronger voice then they must have been sitting on their ears and just admiring how gorgeous he was.

Yeah, they had to change the key for Idina. Her usual key sounds much more amazing.

Hey, does anyone know of any clips of Idina's last show? I mean, I was there, but I saw this thing on the 'As long as you're mine' site, that said "clips of Idina's last one", or something like that. Whoever snuck a camera in is amazing, but if anyone knows where to get Idina last day clips, that would be AWESOME!

Listening to some other songs on the site, hearing the acostic version of "Wicked" was rather, er, surreal. Idina's voice was amazing still, but I guess I am just use to DG with all the musical bells as whistles.
Taye was different in the "As Long as You're Mine" file. Obviously still not at good as Norbie, but hey, I would still kill for his vocal prowess.
'Yeah, they had to change the key for Idina. Her usual key sounds much more amazing.'
They didn't change the key for her, they changed it for Taye (and for Joey later on).

I came across that site a few days ago, I love that clip. Taye sounds a little strange on maybe 2 lines but the rest of it is so pretty. Idina changed her part alottt and I didn't really like it until the final "as long as you're mineeee" that they hold. That part sounds beautiful. And I just think they're adorable together, so... :)
Oh, as for the rest of the clips -- I LOVE Idina's I'll Cover You and the more mellowed out Defying Gravity.

thanks for the link! the chemistry between them is definately there, for obvious reasons. but his voice in the role just doent do it for me. i think the only note he hit well in that video was "through different eyes." he reminded me a lot of derrick williams, the tour fiyero. i really disliked derricks rendition, and im not a fan of tayes performance either. (for the record, i adore taye. hes awesome in RENT, hes a great actor and hes, well, HOT)
Taye was definitely miscast as Fiyero, he wouldn't have ever been cast had it not been an emergency situation. I'd actually be interested to hear Taye sing "Dancing Through Life".
I personally thought Joey McIntyre was good, but he was the only Fiyero I'd seen live, so I can't really make a comparison.
"Joey McIntyre in Wicked was like what Rent is doing by hiring Joey Fatone, Drew Lachey and Mel B. its a bad ploy"
FabalaYero85, I completely disagree. Do you think Neil Patrick Harris in Rent was a bad ploy as well, just because he was a child star? Joey McIntyre has been doing professional stage work and musicals for years before he was cast in Wicked. Joey Fatone, Drew and Mel B. were the definition of stunt casting- former big-name stars that were getting their first stage work EVER in a leading role on Broadway.
Hey, Idina, or Webmaster of Idina:

^ If that's for the site in the original message.
Idina has NOTHING to do with that site.
Umm...I say Taye in Wicked back in Dec '03 while Norbert was out with his back injury, and I thought he was just awful. It's probably unfair to compare him to Norbert, but even beyond that, it didn't look like he really stepped into the role and did anything with it.
