Wow, I thought there would be a tie in Lead Actress to allow for Cusack and McDonald. Part of me thought McDonald was weak but then Brantley raved about her and I let that sway me. I should have stuck to my original prediction! A very solid roster this year, though I do wish Nicholas Barasch and Jennifer Hudson would have been recognized.
"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"
Very surprised to see Audra left out, but good for Adrienne Warren! She's terrific in the show- her first number starts the show off beautifully.
Ultimately, not a lot of surprises, though I didn't expect to see Bright Star get so much attention. Also, did anyone predict Laurie Metcalf would be nominated for Misery? Of all the nominations this year, that one seems the most out of left field, and unfortunately it means that Nicola Walker isn't remember for her stunning performance in A View from the Bridge.
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.
I'm a little peeved that Benjamin Walker and Helene Yorke got snubbed.
However, with the former's category, I'm happy Zachary Levi snuck in. With the latter's category, I'm surprised Adrienne Warren snuck in only one of two acting nods with such a marquee cast. She must really be something
