The fact that Chastain can win the Triple Crown in a 18 month span is amazing and I'm rooting her for it. I think she takes the Tonys anyway because I don't see ''Piano'' winning over ''A Doll's House'', but she certainly wants that acting prize.

Will there still be performances? What’s everyone guesses on what each show will perform?
The Drama League Award winners are being announced!
So far,
Annaleigh Ashford wins Distinguished Performance for 'Sweeney Todd'
This definitely helps ITW's chances for a closed show, and I do think, unsurprisingly, Leopoldstadt is a lock for Best Play (though I LOVED Fat Ham), and surprised Ashford topped Comer

Well, Voter 1 has some hot takes...like NY, NY for Best Musical, BEST BOOK (?), Best Choreo and Colton Ryan for Best Actor...They have to be involved in that production somehow."
NY NY is NOT winning those awards...possibly Choreography over SLIH. It will Win most likely Best Set Musical that's all!
Kimberly Akimbo I bet WINS 5 or 6 out of their 8 nominations! I feel it's between Justin Cooley and Alex Newell for Best Featured role Musical but leaning Newell unless the KA love sweeps the awards.
Parade will take Best Musical Revival!
Agree with you on all counts Robbie!
Totallh agree that the race is between Cooley and Newell. It will come down to what the voters value more: a crazy awesome song or characterization. Personally, I'm more about the actor serving the character/story throughout than I am about an individual song blowing off the roof.

I only see Cooley taking if they go all the way with ''Kimberly'' aka ''The Bands Visit'' winning EVERYTHING.
Are we taking sides for the acting awards for the play categories??? Can Sean Hayes win? I think it may not look good to see the white man beating 4 poc nominees.
Actress is a toss-up.
Featured Actor is Brandon, right?
Featured Actresss. don't know!
I recently saw Kimberly Akimbo again and was blown away by Justin Cooley. It’s such a lived-in performance that isn’t showy but wins over the entire audience. I would love to see him win. Ironically, Bonnie Milligan’s performance is the showy performance who steals the show with a song, akin to Alex Newell. I imagine Bonnie is the frontrunner in her category, especially with all of the press and buzz lately.
I’d love to see Katy Sullivan or Kara Young win for Featured Actress in a Play. I loved them both in Cost of Living.
I hope Justin takes it. He is so young yet, as Mr Music commented, it's such a lived in performance. The audience was so taken by him, he is absolutely incredible and simply better than the other people in the same category.
And yes, featured is Brandon. Brilliant performance.
Add me to the camp that's rooting for Justin Cooley. Just a great performance all around.

I think the award that I care about most deeply this year is my hope that Victoria Clark wins for Kimberly Akimbo.
A deeply felt, flawless performance.

I thought &Juliet was a lock for a lot of awards season love. Maybe I overestimated that. It IS a strong year though.

I'm hearing Some Like It Hot has a slight advantage amongst voters.
Now that it's a member of the million-dollar club - that will help tooooooo
I liked Cooley and totally support a win but felt like his big moment in the show - his act 2 solo - was a bit of a head scratcher but that’s most likely the direction and the song. But something tells me Newell will win since that seems to be the 1 thing people walk out talking about (and the book).
The categories that I think might still be in limbo are:

I don't really know about Actor in a Play;
Funny that Featured Actress in a Play is a place that many plays can get the ''sole win'' for them (Fat Ham, Ain't No Mo and Cost of Living'' and yet I feel like Miriam Silverman is likely the one getting because it's such a crowpleasure role. Maybe it's Katy Sullivan's time?
Costume Design I'm going with Leopoldstadt just because it's a period piece;
Direction is Michael Arden's for me, but if ''Into the Woods'' can pull a win, maybe Lear can too?
Orchestrations is a cross mark, don't know.
Sound Design is 100% & Juliet for me.

Annaleigh Ashford has now won yet another award this season: the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Lead Performance in a Musical. This comes on the heels of her winning the Drama League Award for Distinguished Performance.
I know Victoria Clark was not eligible for this season's awards outside of the Tonys, but I have to imagine Annaleigh is a now very serious contender for the Tony. She is a critical and awards darling of the season. Does anyone else think there is a good chance we see Annaleigh win her second Tony in a few weeks?

If she wins, it would be her 3rd Tony Award (she won supporting for Kinky Boots and You Can't Take it With You.)
Ashford didn't win for Kinky Boots; Andrea Martin won that year for Pippin.

Oops -- you're right! Sorry about that!
Hoping Cooley winsl. He's excellent, funny. The role has a less showy number but it's a finer acted performance.
