I think it's going really well, although I'm kind of like where isall the extra footage promised?
Hopefully they're saving it all up for 'intermission.' :)
Orfeh looked and sounded fabulous- after "Ireland (Reprise)" was such a random place for another commercial break, but I think with the applause that she got after that number (fyi for those who were not there- that applause was totally not sweetened) maybe it was just an easy place to cut it in?
Even if he had two jobs, he wouldn't be able to work more than 20 hours while in law school.
"[Gore] was widely perceived as arrogant. If you know something, you're not smart. You're a smarty-pants. It's annoying. People get annoyed with your knowledge. It goes back to high school, to not doing your homework ... 'There's something I should know, I don't know why I should know it but someone knows it and I don't. So I'm going to have to make fun of him now.'"

Quite possibly the worst score to be sung on Broadway in decades.
I agree.
As adorable as Borle (and this song) is, I think he just told Elle she was mediocre so she could stay and he wouldn't be alone. It's sort of creepy.

I hadn't even heard the CR before this, but there's no purpose for any of these songs. The Irish whale song? What does that have to do with anything in the story? The lawyer one? There are a lot better instances to have songs than what they chose.
I also hate that they made Emmett force her to change her ways instead of deciding for herself that she needs to change. Way to ruin one of the most positive aspects of the movie. A woman? Making a positive choice of her own accord without a male showing her how? NEVER!

Thank God Borle is adorable and this song is pretty good because otherwise, the character is creepy as hell.
Will Elle hook up with Emmett? As if nobody watched the superior film.

Is it just me, or is it unnecessary for the Hills girls to say what's coming up next? "Are Emmett & Elle more than just friends?" (or whatever that dumb beee-otch just said)
I don't know, it's much better than anything we've heard so far, IMO. At least it had a real purpose. Everything else was just there because "hey! Let's turn the movie into a musical! Um...I guess we need songs..."

Some women behind me had the same complaints about him pushing her to be better during intermission of the first preview in SF. I think that the end makes up for it.

On TV, the lead female looks like having too much botox and plastic surgery. She looks like those old lady, who get work done to look like a teenager. I don't mean the lead female is old but somehow she looks like that to me.
They should have light it slightly brighter for the TV recording as well. There are too many shadow on the performer's face. The light also made them seems like singing in a black background as well.
You mean when she wins her case just because she spent her whole life paying attention to cosmetics and hair?

Yeah... Christian Borle is utterly adorable and talented, but that song was odd.
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.
I'm aware of the term. I don't see why they felt the need to develop Elle's character into an idiot that can't take a positive step without Emmett's prompting.
Everything else was just there because "hey! Let's turn the movie into a musical! Um...I guess we need songs..."
Exactly. A lot of these songs should have been cut out in workshops instead of making it all the way to the frozen show on Broadway.
