Yeah, get that girl a TV show.
I like this song too.
Orfeh is awesome, as is Michael Rupert. The screaming put in by MTV is annoying.
Reason for DISliking Laura Bell Bundy in this? Simple. She didn't reduce her acting for those close-ups -- she's still playing to reach the balcony level of the Palace Theatre. At the theatre, her performance works. With those intense close-ups on TV, she's like an exagerrated cartoon.
Those who understand this aren't having a problem with her performance or liking her. I think she's great in this TV version...taking in consideration her interpretation and why.
Wow, I didn't expect this show to be this LAME.
I mean I didn't like the songs, but wow, the jokes, dialogue, scenes...it's just so flat.
Plus, why is Laura Bell Bundy so nasal?
I am enjoying Bundy. And the line in the Irish song about dancing without moving our arms was TOTALLY lost on the audience.
Whoa! GO Orfeh! Finally a really amazing vocal moment!!!! Theatrical fireworks!
I agree, Anakela. I think Tracy Jai sparkles and a lot her jokes are hitting well.
I am loving the multiple camera angles from behind. "What You Want" looked SO impressive and big.
I think it's going really well, although I'm kind of like where isall the extra footage promised?
WAY TOO MANY COMMERCIALS THOUGH. One after "positive" and htne again after "ireland?"
So they can say be-otch but not tits either? I can understand getting high now that it got pointed out. But still they can't say tits?

I think a LOT of this is lost on the audience. I could almost hear half the crowd whispering "What's chum?"
Also Orfeh was fantastic. Pretty much just seeing her is making this worth it for me.

I screamed for Michael from my couch. I'm cool...
I actually think MTV did a really good job with this. The camera work isn't distracting at all and I am enjoying the show.
I can deal with the screaming, I expected it, but I feel like the sound balance is off between the vocals and instrumentals which is sometimes making it hard to understand the lyrics.
I love Tracy Jai. Not missing Kritzer at all.
I genuinely disliked Bundy when I saw it live as well. Personal taste, I suppose.

Well, the joke hasn't really been relevant for almost 10 years.
Is anyone else playing the question game over the phone?
BTW my mouth dropped at three "boobs"
wait..that didnt sound right.
Michael was fantastic, and that was my favorite song so far.
Laura's unbearably nasal speaking voice is enough for me to dislike her, but I'm trying to keep an open mind.
Production values seem pretty impressive to me, so far.
I have to say that the sample sale, Gloria Steinem, and What's up Doc lines were pretty good.
I agree with Fosse, Bundy needs to relax her facial expressions!!
Laura is actually starting to annoy me.

Awww, I really hope this causes the whole world to fall in love with Christian Borle. He's coming off really well.

Orfeh is incredible. Supposibly shes not really featured in anything backstage and she deserves to be shes the REAL star of the show!
So for those who have seen it, have they changed dialoug for this broadcast? It is evident they are going for the young crowd, tweens who will want to see this when in New York on vacation. Thanksgiving tourists are coming in. I am thinking they are hoping sales go up after this broadcast. Oh...and I could kidnap Christian Borle and just keep him to myself forever. Just my thoughts!
I do like Bundy in this. I have no problem realizing that they are used to acting on stage and having what they are saying to reach all the way to the balcony.
i am enjoying the show and the taping. It makes me wonderr why they have not done this sort of thing before. In London they have doen this thing several times.
And, I wouldn't be suprised if MTV told the audience that they should all be all roudy and loud.
I love this taping. It is great.
I agree!
Quite possibly the worst score to be sung on Broadway in decades.
