"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."
--Aristotle
Encores did BYE BYE BIRDIE three years ago and THE SECRET GARDEN was the World AIDS Day concert two years ago, so neither of those will happen.
THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD, please!
"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe."

Encores! did Hair three years before the Actors' Fund did, so ya never know.
Bye Bye Birdie could be a fun all-star concert, though I'm normally not a huge fan of the show.
"If there is going to be a restoration fee, there should also be a Renaissance fee, a Middle Ages fee and a Dark Ages fee. Someone must have men in the back room making up names, euphemisms for profit."

Love the ANYTHING GOES and CITY OF ANGELS suggestions.
Was GARDEN really two years ago? Seems like forever ago...

Cheyenne Jackson tickled me. AFTER ordering SoMMS a drink but NOT tickling him, and hanging out with Girly in his dressing room (where he DIDN'T tickle her) but BEFORE we got married. To others. And then he tweeted Boobs. He also tweeted he's good friends with some chick on "The Voice" who just happens to be good friends with Tink's ex. And I'm still married. Oh, and this just in: "Pettiness, spite, malice ....Such ugly emotions... So sad." - After Eight, talking about MEEEEEEEE!!! I'm so honored! :-)
Well...Vanessa Williams did ruin it...I almost feel like people need someone to get that awful memory out of their mind with an amazing performance...

i agree with you munkustrap about INTO THE WOODS. And maybe a few others but i would pay big bucks to see a star-studded JCS or MONTY. maybe thats just me. i was just disappointed last year when they chose WHOREHOUSE. i enjoyed DREAMGIRLS, CHESS, and HAIR so much. i want them to choose an ensemble show like the few i just listed so that more stars are able/willing to join.
7 Brides for 7 Brothers? Guys and Dolls would be a hoot.
