It was so funny seeing Brody get put in his place by Totally Effed a while back. Brody slunk away with his tail between his legs and didn't make a peep for a good while.

This happens quite often but a wise person knows when to just walk away instead of adding fuel to a fire. Sadly, most don’t know when to stop and go back and forth on threads getting defensive. I know better.

Sweets, that last part has never been questioned by me so that assumption is beyond hilarious. I’ve been dancing to the beat of my own drum since childhood. Ask those who “get” me and will tell you I suffer no fools.

Really enjoying the Sing-a-Long recording.

While in the theater I was listening to the orchestrations and was wanting to hear them without the lead vocals. I will probably listen to this more than the regular Soundtrack. The orchestrations are really nice and the orchestra sounds wonderful.

Agreed! It's a thrilling listen. I do hope Powell & Schwartz are awarded an Oscar for their efforts. I've been listening to the Original Motion Picture Score and Sing-a-Long albums more than the soundtrack.

As Wicked is still going strong at the box office and in the awards conversation, I've got a very timely interview to share as a Christmas gift with everyone.

Carol de Giere is the author of two books that provide behind-the-scenes stories on popular musicals. The first book, Defying Gravity: The Creative Career of Stephen Schwartz, from Godspell to Wicked, takes readers into the world of the award-winning composer-lyricist behind Wicked, Pippin, and other Broadway shows and films. The second book, The Godspell Experience: Inside a Transformative Musical, records the history and song-by-song details for Godspell and features a Foreword by Stephen Schwartz. Both books serve as historical records in addition to offering insights on the creative process for fans of musicals, working writers, and performers. I had the great pleasure of getting in touch with her about a lot of this and more.

Back from a Xmas Day "singalong" showing. Only about 20 people or so, but the young ladies sang out - although not as loud as you might have expected.  I did not reach for any of the high notes. 

The graphics for the singalong were very good - readable and timely. And the Erivo/Grande pre-show "warm-up" was helpful!

(Note: film was better on second viewing).

The film will debut on VOD and digital platforms next Tuesday, December 31, with a $29.99 purchase price.

I seriously thought I might buy the DVD for the special features but they have put so much stuff out already, 2 more things today, that I will probably just wait to see if they do a "Director's Cut" of the whole thing and maybe buy that.

It may have been reported before but I just read that Erivo wrote one of the new songs for Part II with Schwartz. I didn't know this.  Her EGOT came to mind.
