Even so it wouldn't be several minutes, more like one minute total across two soundtracks
I'm hearing the digital release will be on December 30.

Yes. There was a "big announcement" commercial yesterday during the football game we were watching. I was a bit confused at the time. Didn't know why it was going to Prime before Peacock but it is for purchase or rental. (I was at a bar and it was loud. Just saw Prime on the screen) I read it is expected to hit Peacock somewhere around March.

It’s not a snub, she had no hope. It sadly wasn’t a good film

Is it a snub if it wasn't really expected? Part one had al the love and all the buzz. Part two was satisfying, but the second act of the show really is weak. It didn't get the same love, nor did it really have much buzz.
People who think anyone would win major awards for their performance in this film need to see other films.

I mean, to be fair, tell that to Oscar winners Rami Malek, Sandra Bullock, Jamie Lee Curtis, etc etc. These awards shows hardly have a history of giving their respective award(s) to the actual deserving/worthy winner(s).
Regardless, a musical sequel with mediocre performances was never going to do well in performance categories.
In my latest piece for Gold Derby, I dig into how "Wicked: For Good" would be the first stage-to-screen musical adaptation to receive an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song in 13 years.

Just an aside...A week ago I was doing a search on Ariana Grande. Gemini AI told me that she is in "Wicked" on Broadway and has been nominated for a 2026 Tony Award (Which alone is impossible at this point in time). It went on to say that she was nominated in the supporting category so she would not be going head to head with Cynthia. I took a pic of it but can't figure out how to post it.
So while yes, it’s true I have not seen a lot of the movies that could have Oscar worthy performances this year, I truly cannot see a world where Ariana’s performance does not garner an Oscar nomination. I also think she will win, but admittedly that is, as I said, without knowing much of the competition.

Did you think their performances were better in the first film? They seemed pretty consistent across both pictures, so I don't get the assumption (which, from upvotes, a few others share) that the actresses were somehow worse the second time around.

Having seen all of the films that are competitive in Best Supporting Actress at the Oscars, I still think Ariana is going to get a nomination, although I now have her in fifth place and I wouldn’t be shocked if she isn’t nominated.
It seems to be Teyana Taylor’s to lose for OBAA with Amy Madigan (Weapons), Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas (Sentimental Value) and Wunmi Mosaku (Sinners) as the others nominated. But I absolutely can see Odessa A’zion getting in and bumping someone else and I think Ariana is the most likely if that happens..
But speaking of the supporting categories… I just can’t understand how Paul Mescal is not the front runner to take home the award. They’re all great and all are win competitive… but it blows my mind that he’s not seriously being talked about for the win.

They were fine the first time and fine the second time. Michelle Yeoh was absolutely horrendous in part two, though. At this point, there’s a strong chance Ariana won’t even be nominated.
Paul Mescal was indeed great.

Believe it or not, I actually am predicting A'zion to get in over Grande.
Well, it looks like For Good was totally shut out from the Oscars.
So I predicted Wicked: For Good to receive 4 Oscar nominations for Best Costume Design, Best Makeup & Hairstyling, Best Production Design, and Best Visual Effects. Given how the music branch has lately proven to be pretty snobby when it comes to adding new material to a pre-existing song score, I knew 'The Girl in the Bubble' would miss Best Original Song.
To my great surprise, the film completely blanked! Remember when I said that the first film wasn't gonna be a big Oscar player? Turns out I was more right regarding the second one.

I can’t believe For Good has been snubbed.
I can, it was terrible.

Why on earth should any of them have been nominated two years in a row for the same production? They suckered millions of dollars out of people. They don't need Oscars, too.
