Looks like WALL-E will be popping up at the Tonys during the tribute segment to Jerry Herman:

AWWWWWWWWWW YAY!!!!
haha thats awesome
This animatronic, or Living Character, as they call them now, was out at Hollywood Studios last summer for meet and greets. Until yesterday, he graced my avatar, actually. When he worked, he looked fantastic. However, he had a lot of technical problems last year, so many that they eventually removed him.
Is Disney going to make that movie into a flop musical too?

What if Wall-E suddenly remembers his mission and crunches up several of the nominees into a cube and stacks them neatly?
As long as Constantine is in the bunch, that's fine.

throw the score for Billy Elliot in and we got a deal.

Well he was programed to clean up garbage.
JoeKv, I believe it's diRECtive.
Two things of note in that article. The mention of a Hello Dolly Revival, and calling Angela Lansbury a Disney legend. I know that she did the voice of Mrs. Potts, but I wouldn't exactly call her a Disney legend. You want to call her a legend of theater, tv, and even film? Be my guest.
Aww... that is too much! I absolutely adore WALL-E! :)
That's a clever idea too. I can't wait to see him!

Well why not. The song is used more intelligently in WALL-E than in the film of HELLO, DOLLY. WALL-E singlehandedly justifies Herman's existence.
Fun!
The best news, however, is that apparently there will be a big tribute (w perfs) to honor JERRY HERMAN's Lifetime achievement Tony. I mean, Sondheim didn't get a tribute when he won lst year, so I was ready to accept there wouldn't be one for Jerry - but WHAT GREAT NEWS!

I guess you've never heard of that little 1971 Walt Disney gem that she starred in titled BEDKNOBS AND BROOMSTICKS. I guess you also weren't aware that the song she sings in it "The Age of Not Believing" also won an Academy Award/Oscar.
She has also hosted and narrated countless of Disney projects/specials. 1991's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST wasn't nor is the only time she worked for Disney.

"The Age of Not Believing" lost the Oscar for Best Song to the "Theme From Shaft."
I stand corrected. "The Age of Not Believing" did NOT win the Academy Award/Oscar. I guess someone needs to correct La Lansbury as she's still going around saying it did.
Poor gal.
We could use the old publicity stunt and say that "The Age of Not Believing" won an Oscar nomination.
There. All fixed.

Who cares what it won or didn't win? Just enjoy it. We're lucky she did this movie.

How many 'flop musicals' have they had?
Bedknobs and Broomsticks is one of my favorite Disney movies.
