Thanks for posting - I really miss "Heroes," great to hear it again (Though the orchestra sounds louder than the performers sometimes?). Miss the old "Down the Rabbit Hole" too, but I guess we all have to settle for the one they recorded.
The beginning of "Finding Wonderland" .. why the need for that?
They really should have held off if they were going to change the show as much as they did... A lot of it is very different now.
There are some weird edits in here... especially in "Off With Their Heads." Usually the queen hits the high note near the end and holds it, and it sounds like they recorded it that way But instead of the long note, after a second or so, the music and ensemble cuts in very abruptly with her.
The Masterworks website has the Tampa (2011) show summary listed.

Janet at the beginning? Hey, it matches the little riff that (Darren?) is doing at the 3:24 mark at the end. :)
Ok yes there are a few little changes that I wish were on here (the new Through the Looking Glass verse, etc.) but gah I am so excited to get my hands on the actual cd, it sounds so good! And hello ensemble.
Not that I'm complaining, but I'm a little confused as to why they're streaming the full album. It can easily be captured that way.
"I Will Prevail" sounds amazing. "Off With Their Heads" is kind of ruined by that quick cut and the beginning of "Finding Wonderland" is unnecessary, but obviously they were going for a pop album sound so it works in that respect, but I would rather it not be there. "Heroes" is beautiful! I wish it was still in the show.
I'm glad they recorded early since they probably wouldn't have been able to get a distributor after those reviews came out. I would rather have a recording of the show the way it is now, but this will do.

Some people have said they've only been getting 30 second clips, but the full thing will still work for me.
"I Am My Own Invention"... what awful producing (or Darren Ritchie sounds completely different live or on this track). Some of the voices are clearly "autotuned" or something which is awful. The cutting/editing of certain tracks is just as bad (most notably "Off With Their Heads"), sometimes you can't hear the ensemble over the music ("Heroes")...
For a Frank Wildhorn album quality wise? This is one of the worst. Hopefully these are fixed on the physical CD album.
Omg some of these songs are beautiful! Heroes should have been kept but at least they recorded it. I'm hoping that once the CD is out at the theater and people buy it and here that song that demand will be strong enough to have it be put back in (ala SHREK)
I love Home, The Mad Hatter, I will Prevail, Finding Wonderland, Once More I Can See, and many others...I really think this score is generally a good score. Yea there are some clunky lyrics but a lot of shows that people on here praise have them too. Is it a masterpiece? No...but its good.
BTW...at the end of "Finding Wonderland" on the last note...does anyone else find that guy who does some random riff on the note insanely annoying?
"Life in theater is give and take...but you need to be ready to give more then you take..."
I can't wait for this. Hereos is amazing!!! Why was it taken out of the show. Also I love I will Prevail. Kate Shindle has an amazing voice I wish they had the duet home but I'm Kinda glad they just have Home with Carly because it shows off her voice well.
Does anyone know what song they play with the preview footage outside the Marquis. That song sounds good.
"The sexual energy between the mother and son really concerns me!"-random woman behind me at Next to Normal
"I want to meet him after and bang him!"-random woman who exposed her breasts at Rock of Ages, referring to James Carpinello
why why WHY???! Why did they cut "Heroes"??? Seriously, one of the best songs from the show, and actually a great song in general. I think its one of the most beautiful songs I've heard in a while.
"Life in theater is give and take...but you need to be ready to give more then you take..."
I do to! Seriously, the part where Janet is singing "here at last" and the ensemble join in is just gorgeous! And the cresendo (sp?) where the ensemble sing in parts "I'll be a hero" and the orchestra picks up the pace under them is so beautiful.
