"No two shows are alike in the making. Each show is a living
piece of your life in a small unreal world with its own character
and integrity; its own new set of memorable experiences and
incredible happenings. You begin to love and adapt to its strangeness.
Dreams harden into substance. Values come into focus. You wish
it would never end. The dream world vanishes like mist before a
rising sun; part of you vanishes with it. And back you land in the
real world with a thud- fogged, uneasy, jittery, difficult to get
along with. There is only one cure. A new show. A new, small
unreal world; new visions, experiences, incredible happenings.
Again you love it, adapt to it, wish it would never end.
But end it does. Another part of you vanishes.
That's show business."-Anonymous
Yeah I thought he meant people living in the area who happened to carry iguanas around. Weirder things have happened. (last time I went to Venice beach I saw parrots, lizards, a python, ferrets, frogs and some guy lugging a small tank of fish behind him in a cart.) :-P

On a somewhat different note, I FINALLY, FINALLY found my RENT Bible that I have been looking for for about 2 years now. When I moved stuff from my parents house to my apartment, I opened a bin just to see what was in it, and it was at the bottom. I nearly screamed in a very girlish high pitched tone. Ok, now back to your original scheduled discussion.

Oh yeah, I would also like to add that I have started my mission to get people to go see RENT with me when it comes out. So far I have me, my financee (will be wife by then), and my two friends who are married. My mission has just begun and will not stop until I have that whole entire theater filled with people.

Well, after a truly lovely discussion about some speculative things over on my off-topic "home," I read a post on CB about the filming of some of Without You. It sounds brilliant, I'm so excited.
i'm so excited for this movie! i can't wait, either! i have total confidence in the cast and crew so i'm not going to worry about whether or not they're gonna change it up a bit. who knows, maybe it will work to its advantage! we can never know until we actually see it. i hope they're going to release a soundtrack!
but yea, Anthony, I reread your most recent post again and I had to laugh out loud about the iguana toting ladies. Ha!
I'm back!! (from not being online for like a week) Things I need to say!: 1. I have a new view on the Mimi/Roger and Mark/Roger thing. Mimi/Roger is ok. I am not totaly agenst it, it works for the story and stuff. Mark/Roger is just a whole other story! That why it's fanfic. I just kina like the idea. 2. I saw Adventures in Babysitting! YAY! You were so cute Anthony! I loved it. 3. I'm not going to be posting for a week starting the 9th.
I can't wait for the moooooooooooooooooooooovie!!

I've got a quick question, I've been looking for some information on one of the movies you did called Open House but I can't find anything about it. Do you think you could give a little detail about the plot, genre etc? It sounds interesting but I only have a very vague idea of what its about. Thanks! -Mika

Thanks Lael. :-P Does anyone know where I could get this? Was it ever released on DVD or VHS or is this something I'd have to dig up on Ebay? It sounds like a really good movie. And who can say no to a musical/movie at that?

Yeah I saw that but I assumed that was when the movie was premiered at festivals and such since there were no DVD details on the site. Or maybe lack of sleep is finally getting to me, who knows.

Just to backtrack on the convo a bit- I was gone for a week and missed some good discussions!
I personally think there are situations in which Mark and Roger can work, seeing as they obviously love each other(even if its not in a romantic way). But as long as Mimi's there, Rog will have eyes for no one else. No way. But I'm a slash fan, so thats probably why I see it. I actually read a few good stories NOT focused on the physical part of the relationship that I really liked- particularily this one on ff.net called "No Day But Today(Sequel to Guilt)" and Roger was anorexic, Mimi was the one who was afraid of no lifetime guarantees and was still hooked on her drugs... it was awesome. Really awesome.
I also love the fact that you're out, Anthony. I've been able to open up to a lot of people as a result- I'm not lesbian, but I'm not straight, my philosophy is that I'm just going to love whoeever I fall in love with, regardless of sex. I still haven't broken it to my parents yet(my mom already doesn't approve of my wanting to make a living off of theatre and film, I don't want MORE of that), but your cd, particularily Just Some Guy, has been pushing me towards telling them. My mom didn't have a bad reaction to that song, so lets hope *crosses fingers*
As a side note of something I found very amusing. I was watching Road Trip last night, and then you came onscreen(wasn't expecting that, haha)... and is it odd I felt bad for your character the whole time and thought Beth was being bitchy to you? Hmm, maybe its just the fact that I like guys with glasses and I like you better than the other guys in the movie-?
Man... this thread kicks ass. You totally rock for giving us all these lengthy wonderful updates. Kudos, Anthony :) Big time.
And hey- where did the second thread go? And why did we do it?
Anthony! Thanks SO much for the update! Im SO excited for this movie, even though i'll probably be the one who cant get in, winds up sneaking in, and ends up getting kicked out. but thats ok!
Yeah, can't help but feel a bit bad for Jacob all throughout Road Trip. Is it true that there's a deleted scene where you see Josh beating Jacob up from a distance for lying about the test being delayed? (on a side note it seems that almost everyone on this forum was watching that movie a couple nights ago. :-P)
Alot of those fanfictions are actually very good and well written. I really enjoyed some of the stories. It gave a new perspective on the characters we have come to love. I particularly enjoyed one called Chill, I think, among a few others. There was also another one that almost had me in tears by the end. Anyways, sorry to go so off topic but I had to add that in.

I wanted to ask if you think the movie will have as strong of an impact as the broadway show did. Will it still be as powerful as you think? Plus, is it cool catching up with most of the OBC and Idina (heh had 2 add that). Okay well cool if u answer this. Glad to be in touch and updated with the movie. Oh and is Rosario Dawson singing?
