Ha! I think alot of people here can relate to you.
I want to write music. I want to sit down right now at my piano and write a song that people will listen to and remember and do the same thing every morning...for the rest of my life. - Jonathan Larson. Tick, Tick...BOOM!
Come on, people, a little statement like that isn't going to scare him off. He's a grown man, who's been in shows like RENT and Hedwig...I think he can take a little joke. Let's give him some credit.

Hmmm, so much to ponder! Now I really won't be able to concentrate on my history essay today. Oh well, it's worth it :) Thanks as always for filling us in Anthony...well at least somewhat filling us in.
Since you're the only person around here that's heard both... if you had to choose, would you go with the RENT cast recording or the RENT soundtrack? Why?
If it does go for limited release then I'm assuming that a worldwide release would follow soon after. I have a feeling that it might start out limited but thats just my opinion.

Thanks, Anthony! Your updates always calm my mind down!

Thankyou Anthony!! Does anyone know what songs have defiantly been cut out of Rent? I wish none would be.. I think some people would really think it was strange if they saw a whole movie with the majority of it singing.. which is good! People need to be able to see different styles of movies and musicals... And Rent is just so special! Emmy xo
Well I'm almost positive that Happy New Year is now all dialogue and most of the tune ups and voicemails are dialogues too but don't quote me on that. I'm sure its around this thread....

The New Welcome Anthony Rapp thread has been christened, so THAT is the place for all the threadjacks to go! Woohoo! Now, when I tear my hair out, there's a place for your refuge!
"I am special, I am special! Please, God, please, don't let me be normal!" ---Louisa, The Fantasticks
Hey! I have been reading this thread for a couple days and I finally registered. I really like this board, everyone is so friendly!
I think it's great that Anthony Rapp is posting on here! It's weird, I just watched Adventures in Babysitting tonight. I loved it, I think I saw it a long time ago because I recognised certain parts. Anyway I loved your character in that movie, Anthony, I thought you were hilarious.
And I'm so excited for this movie, I wish I lived in New York or San Francisco so I could see the filming. But at least there are pictures!
I just asked my SF bud, Meg, if she's seen any filming activity around her recently.
It turns out Sixth Street is a block away from her work.

"During this performance, please feel free to let your cell phones and pagers ring willy-nilly. However, do remember that there are heavily-armed knights on stage and you might well be dragged up and impaled."
(Pre-curtain announcement at the new Broadway musical Monty Python's Spamalot)
Thanks for the update Anthony! Even though you likie to taunt us with information since we have to wait until NOVEMBER to see the movie. But thank you anyway.

Can someone please explain the second thread to me?
I want to write music. I want to sit down right now at my piano and write a song that people will listen to and remember and do the same thing every morning...for the rest of my life. - Jonathan Larson. Tick, Tick...BOOM!
Thanks for the update, as always. I read your update, and my mind went to work, as usual. It's hard to visualize all of these things coming together. I always only see it on the stage...this is exciting!
While I agree that ALL of the music in Rent is fantabulous, and deserves to be in the movie, from a movie going stand point, it just wouldn't make sense. Some songs exist to explain an event that couldn't conceivable happen on stage. When you have the technology to explain it in a way that people will enjoy, like with the film industry, it just doesn't make sense. I was thinking about this on my drive to school the other day.
Thank you, Anthony, for appeasing our curious nature, AND for adding fuel to the flame, so to speak.
Anxiously awaiting Trailers, or ANYTHING about the movie to air SOMEWHERE....
i think the songs being cut out are the tune ups, the voice mails, halloween, contact..umm i cant remember
heres the full list of all the songs definitely in the movie

"No two shows are alike in the making. Each show is a living
piece of your life in a small unreal world with its own character
and integrity; its own new set of memorable experiences and
incredible happenings. You begin to love and adapt to its strangeness.
Dreams harden into substance. Values come into focus. You wish
it would never end. The dream world vanishes like mist before a
rising sun; part of you vanishes with it. And back you land in the
real world with a thud- fogged, uneasy, jittery, difficult to get
along with. There is only one cure. A new show. A new, small
unreal world; new visions, experiences, incredible happenings.
Again you love it, adapt to it, wish it would never end.
But end it does. Another part of you vanishes.
That's show business."-Anonymous
