It will probably unfortunately close in the midst of this crisis, though it was making some decent cash before the shutdown. But who knows? If it does survive, I bet you'll be seeing Alanis Morissette or Idina Menzel take on Mary Jane as part of a desperation stunt cast. (Idina originally read the part in 2017)

I hope I can move mountains to get to see the first performance of Phantom after this is over. I just know the audience is going to go crazy as soon as the first notes of that overture hit.

Right now, we've got seats to The Music Man and Company for October. Fingers crossed we have a hope of seeing them safely, because I would absolutely love to. We were scheduled to see Company the first Saturday of the closure and were so bummed to miss it.

The Music Man!
But will the show go on, even if we all hope, it must ( as the showbiz adage goes)!
Hugh Jackman shares this in a very recent interview with the Hollywood Foreign Press Assn ( Golden Globes) re the forthcoming HBO screening of his Toronto Festival hit, Bad Education --

"But keeping on working is important for him - even in self-isolation and not knowing if the show will go on.
He said: "I would be lying if I said I am not dancing in my living room a little bit. We did a little bit of a workshop back in February, so I know what some of the dances are going to be. I am still doing singing lessons and singing every day.
"I was with the musical director today on FaceTime for an hour going through the whole score. So it's clear to me that a little bit of work keeps me sane. Also, eight shows a week in a musical, you have to be in top shape. We start rehearsals June 29 hopefully. I thought I have got to be ready for that."
It may seem crazy, especially given how many times I’ve seen it but - Phantom. New York City, a few drinks somewhere before, old faithful Phantom and a great dinner someplace like Orso or Broadway Joe’s afterwards will make me feel like all is right with the world again.
HAMILTON: Premiere revival, 2030.
West Side Story and hopefully Company in the fall along with Flying over Sunset at some point

Oh my God, that sounds amazing!

This was my “want to see” or had tickets for (LSOH 3/24) list before the shutdown, in loose order...
Ain’t Too Proud
Girl from North Country
Beetlejuice
Sing Street
Six
Come From Away (Rachel Tucker)
Jagged Little Pill
Caroline or Change
Company
Mrs Doubtfire
Dear Evan Hansen (Jordan Fisher)
Little Shop of Horrors (JJ) - 3/24
Hamilton

In my mind it plays out four very different ways:
1) the shows all open and I return and see-
Company
SIX
Diana
Girl From The North Country
Moulin Rouge
Mrs Doubtfire
2) some shows return with “big names” to keep them running and I see-
Company (Patti Lupone, Kyle Dean, Matt Doyle etc etc)
Little Shop of Horrors (Jonathan Groff returns)
Jagged Little Pill (with Alanis or idina)
Music Man ( Hugh Jackman Sutton foster)
Some other musical or play with an a lister
3) if broadway opens late and there are a lot of casualties and they bring in some touring shows, mixing with “big names”
Hello Dolly (with Dolly Parton, or Reba or Kristin Chemoweth or a return of Bernadette or Donna Murphy)
Miss Saigon
Love Never Dies (Sierra And Ramin)
Jesus Christ Superstar (with some pop stars)
Joseph (with Donny as the pharaoh )
Les Miserables (with like TImothee Chalamet as Marius and a smattering of other Hollywood/theatre actors)
4). Broadway doesn’t open this year and we are only left with 10 or so long runners. Then I’d see
Phantom
Lion king
Hamilton
Of course. Just for employment of artists I’m hoping that options one or two are More likely. And I hope that the Theatres are up and running By September 26. I want to be back in the city by November. Before thanksgiving

One of the producers put out a shockingly optimistic article, like more optimistic than normal, so I think it might have a chance to make it back, even if it doesn't stay on for a while.

While I agree that Idina would be a good star cast, I feel like they would try and keep Elizabeth Stanley around for the Tonys- whenever and however they happen- since she's a possible nom for best lead actress. I could definitely see them stunt casting Frankie or Phoenix to try and open the doors again.

Hopefully Caroline or Change.
Flying over Sunset. Had tix for Mar 12th and was of course bummed to hear it get cancelled but I understand it's for the best. It'll be worth the wait!!!!
Return trips to Jagged Little Pill and Hadestown! Excited to see Flying Over Sunset and Caroline.

I said something similar in another thread but this quarantine and these closures CANNOT last last that long without Armageddon style chaos we've only seen in movies coming down upon us. Humanity's mental health and an already fragile economy are at stake and will.not.wait. until a vaccine comes. Along with testing, we need viable treatments to bridge the gap between now and that vaccine. We need to demand better. It's already been a month in NY and similar in other cities and states, and the proof is already in the pudding. We're getting antsy and cranky. We can't handle much more than 2-4 months of this, mentally or economically, let alone a year or until 2022 that a Harvard studied reported if nothing changed or happened on that front. So unless the powers that be WANT Armageddon style revoting (I wonder sometimes...), they better come up with a better plans. No human has endless patience to wait a year or more to go back to jobs that won't exist by then.

Phantom will be my first show as well, and I can totally picture the audience reaction to the overture as you described. And if I'm lucky, maybe it'll be a double-header with Love Never Dies.

ABSOLUTELY!
Company! Lots of Company!

Have tickets for MM in mid-September, assuming this mess does not force them to postpone, due to delayed start of rehearsals. Typically my first theatre binge of the new season. Depending on how things are going, may not make it (if I stay in Florida this summer OR may make it a day trip from Cape Cod if get there at all (and if still worried), or may not make it at all. Fearing the reality may be that.

I am feeling the same way. I would like to attend the first return performance if possible. I think it is a nostalgia/comfort kind of thing.

The first time I heard Cipriano's voice, I thought Ben Platt would be perfect for Phoenix, though he is considered an ensemble role. Also, what I would give to see Menzel perform/act out "Uninvited," "Smiling," and "Forgiven." Those songs alone will be worth the price of admission.

Despite being completely gutted at the potential loss of some non-staple/newer shows - I have selfishly never been happier that I have such 'basic' favorites. If B'Way reopens on a Monday, it'll be Phantom, Wicked, and Cursed Child (if they make it) in that order.

My last show was The Lion King on Mar 7 so it might be kind of fun to see that one first as well.
However, in reality I'm hopeful that it will be a rescheduled Plaza Suite. I'd like to support as many shows as possible as long as it's safe to attend. I expect a lot of restrictions until there's a vaccine.

They won't need to stunt cast at all. The OBC will be back with the exception of Yana Perrault who left prior to join on of the Hamilton tours.
