It's impossible for any show to occur on April 13th. New York hasn't even reached the peak and is on lockdown until the end of the month (at the least). Anyone who thinks he or she can see a show this month is delusional. I was supposed to see Take Me Out on April 25th but, even if the entire city wasn't shutdown, you couldn't pay me to fly from Florida to New York and then sit in a theater with a few hundred potentially infected individuals.

Cuomo shut down Broadway until April 12. Unless he extends it, the shutdown is over then. Does anyone have any idea what is happening with any degree of certainty? I have Lehman Trilogy tkts on April 15. I was refused a refund b/c the "theater hasn't authorized it."

Kind of wondering this as well because I’m supposed to see Hamilton on 4/29. With NY under a stay at home order, I don’t see how they can have shows going. Plus PA is under the same stay at home order anyway so even if I could go, I can’t.

I am astonished that NYC theatre goers tolerate the behaviour of Broadway theatres. It is crystal clear that performances will not start again before autumn, so the only reason for not telling the truth is to keep the money as long as possible in their pockets. In Europe, two classic festivals where I held tickets have been cancelled and I had the choice to get refunded or to get a voucher for the next season, which I opted for to help them getting over the crisis. I am not prepared to do so for my Broadway tickets after this absurd behaviour of Broadway theatres.

So..people are dying, people are unemployed, people are losing their loved ones, and all people can think about is when they'll get autographs/selfies with actors again?? This will definitely change Broadway, but right now? Be thankful if you got to see a show, and care more about the world getting better and this virus going away than when you can see an actor again.

Sure, when people are dying, losing their jobs, and people are more concerned about selfies/autographs....sure! That's not selfish at all. I don't care if people are watching bootlegs--whatever you need because I am very concerned about mental health right now. But caring more about selfies/autographs than the health and safety of the actors? Priorities people.

In that sense I'm sorry--you are right about that.

A sad story indeed, but hardly the ticket holder's problem.

As the situation rapidly changes, I would guess they'll announce an extra 2 to 4 week shutdown, then re-evaluate again in 2 weeks. Just like many don't feel comfortable with a flu shot, I have a feeling many will feel the same way about a future coronavirus shot, especially when various current medications appear to be lifesaving.

Telecharge issued refunds within 2 weeks for my shows, but they only did it for shows that were canceled from mid March to mid April. It isn't technology difficult to issue refunds. Software can search all sales within a specific time. Ticketmaster also refunded my tickets within 2 weeks. I never had to call either.

I also got Telecharge to give me refund for Girl/No Country scheduled for April 18, technically a date beyond the presumed April 13 start. I wrote to their tickets@telecharge.com and explained I couldn't attend b/c of this uncertain nightmare. Got an "okay, we'll refund" within 48 hours and $ back in 3 days. They do have folks working remotely at Telecharge. Now Ticketmaster won't do squat w/o event authorization.

I intend to do a credit card dispute on April 13 if there is no resolve by then. I'm trying to get refund for Lehman on April 15.

Does it help for all to tweet Gov Cuomo asking him to order the closure extended till X date?

Governor Cuomo just announced that the closure of non-essential businesses is extended through April 29th. Broadway League will probably announce that Broadway's closure will be extended through that time at least in the next few days. Most likely the theatres are waiting for the government order to be extended as I believe (and let me know if I am incorrect) that allows them to collect on additional insurance as the closure is due to government decree.
