Who Will Replace Kristin Chenoweth?
#0Who Will Replace Kristin Chenoweth?
Posted: 4/21/04 at 8:26amHey all...I just read the article about Kristin leaving Wicked on July 18...Any ideas on who will replace her?? I can't even begin to imagine...Although I think Kelly Ripa would be funny...if she could sing

Actually, that would be kind of cute....but I don't think she can sing. ?? Plus she already has 3 jobs: Talk Show Host, Primetime Sitcom Star, and Mother of 3. ![]()
I don't think anybody could be as wonderful as Kristin in that role; but I think Megan Mullally would be a good choice if I had to pick someone.

Posted: 4/21/04 at 10:54amyes to amy spanger, she's a doll...with some kickin slow vibrato :). sherie is too damn old (looks wise), but i'm sure they would use her anyway

Posted: 4/21/04 at 11:11amSherie reads very young on stage - no matter what her actual age is.

Posted: 4/21/04 at 11:51amSherie Rene would make a better Elphie!! With a wig, of course. She has an awesome power belt - I don't know if she has a legit soprano. She could definitely act the role, though. Anyone else see DEBBIE DOES DALLAS?? Haha!

Posted: 4/21/04 at 12:12pmThanks Dame. God Forbid we go for more than a few posts without a sarcastic/mean comment. I see you're a new poster. There are better ways to fit in then to jump on the "I hate (insert Broadway performer)" bandwagon.

Posted: 4/21/04 at 12:48pmI hope it's either Didi Conn or Erin Moran. Or better yet, Mindy Cohn!

Posted: 4/21/04 at 2:22pmEvery one of the ladies you are mentioning are WAY too long in the tooth to play the role. I think Chenoweth is as well, but hey, they built the show around her and she's so short, she reads young on stage (Scott does not). The only one mentioned that is age appropriate, is Bundy.

Kerri Butler should leave Little Shop and take over the role of Glinda. She's a perfect match in a much better suited role.
Laura Bell Bundy should replace her as Audrey, MUCH better casting their too, imagine the no holds barred belting of suddenly seymour. She'd be a little more dramatic too.

I shall dream tonight of Mindy as Glinda. It's a beautiful thought. Or wait! How about Mindy as Elphaba, Lisa Whelchel as Glinda, Charlotte Rae as Madame Morrible, and Kim Fields as Nessarose. Nancy McKeon didn't do the Thanksgiving reunion, so she's not cast.
Now I can sleep well tonight....

Screw Didi Conn!
Tony-winner Dinah Manoff is all over that role!

Posted: 4/21/04 at 2:57pm"Jo" should have been a team player and showed up at the re-union show. Now she'll never get to play the part of a flying monkey.

Since Jo didn't attend, they should have asked Molly Ringwald. She could have played her ukelele.
As for Dinah Manoff, I'm just sorry I missed her in Leader of the Pack! How come I can never find these shows in syndication anywhere? Where's the Facts of Life Season 1 and 2 DVDs? I need to see Tootie sing Some Enchanted Evening and portray Eleanor Roosevelt!
