The White Half-Mask: I can't say that Mr. McGillin necessarily writes back to everyone, but I wouldn't be surprised. In my case, I have a "friend of a friend" sort of connection to him so he may have written back to me more quickly and more often than he normally would, but maybe not, who knows.
I will say though that the first time he wrote back to me it took a little less than two weeks. The second time I think it was closer to a month but he appologized for taking so long. The last time I wrote to him was two and a half weeks ago and I have not heard back yet.
Hope that helps some!
"I wrote a book: "How to Be Popular". Now I've put together a top ten list of how to help you:
-Elphie, everyday... shower. I mean, who knows? Maybe some of that green is gonna come off!
-Deodorant Elphie. No body likes a stinky witch!
-I think we've covered the hair, we'll get to that.
-Clean underclothes. That's all I'm gonna say.
-Look at your posture. That's no way to be popular!
-Bed made, room straightened. We've done that.
-Colors blended. Oookay.
-But the most important thing to have, to make yourself popular, is to keep your beautiful smile."

I just sent a cd insert to Diana DeGarmo. Has anyone had any luck getting stuff back from her? Any estimates on how long it may be?
Thanks!

NJRAE- I personally have not written to Diana Degarmo but recently a friend of mine received a headshot back from her. I believe it was roughly a month or so.

ps- this stuff you guys have is amazing, i'm jealous! i've gotta start a letter-writing frenzy or something, haha!
pps- anyone have info for the jersey boys for me to send a letter?
hear my song; it was made for the time when you don't know where to go, listen to the song that i sing, you'll be fine..
Does Sutton Foster ever write personalized letters back? She is my absolute favorite actress, and I recently played Mr. Graydon in my school's production of "Thoroughly Modern Millie"... I'm from Toledo, OH, which is the city that "Toledo Surprise" is about... I recently saw "Drowsy" in NYC, and actually met her outside before the show while she was walking her dog... also, i'm really curious about the table read/future plans for "Young Frankenstein"...
Basically, long story short, there's alot of things I want to say and alot of questions i want to ask, but I feel like it would be a waste of my time if she never sends anything back but a headshot.
...But i would love a headshot!
"The nice thing about the rain is that it always stops... eventually."
Not to post another question right away, but i'd really love to write to Marc Kudisch (As I said, i played Graydon) and Gary Beach (i'm Thenardier right now!) and ask them a few questions... do they ever write back?
...also, about the SASE's, if you ask for a headshot, do they fold it up and put it in the SASE? Cuz i'm really a neat-freak, and I hate creases in things...
Has anyone ever asked for a playbill or a souvenir program signed by the cast? Or do you have to specifically send them to the actors and say "Can you have this signed by the cast?" or something to that effect?
Sorry for all the questions, but i just had no idea you could send stuff to the cast members c/o the stage door!
(Except Norm Lewis. He asked my friend and I to send him pictures and a program from our upcoming production of Les Miz... hopefully we'll get a letter back!!!)

Ah. Thanks for the tips, NJRae! I'm sure he's pretty busy with shows & such, so I understand perfectly if he takes a little longer. In retrospect, I should've given him a self-addressed envelope as well (it's my first time writing to an actor, so I'm new at this sort of thing). Although since I live in Canada, I can't get him US stamps for the SASE. Oh, well. Hopefully he'll still be playing Erik when I go down to NYC in the summer, so I can chat with him then & hopefully get a PlayBill autograph. Make sure you renew your contract, Howard!
I wrote Patti LuPone a letter, gave her earrings, and drew a picture of her as Mrs. Lovett and she wrote me a lovely note on her stationary thanking me. It's so cute, I have it hanging in my room.
I also gave Lauren Molina a pair of earrings and she emailed me to thank me and then she and I emailed back and forth talking about her art work.

If you want a headshot, YOU MUST SEND A SELF ADDRESSED STAMPED ENVELOPE that is large enough for a headshot to fit in. They WILL NOT fold it up into a smaller envelope (usually).
If you want a playbill signed by the cast, send it to a specific cast member and ask for it to be signed by the cast.
Thanks actor. I got that information from someone via private message, but when I posted it, for some reason I didn't have the forethought to consider an 8x10 envelope.
But i've figured it out now. Many thanks!

I am thinking of sending a letter to Stephanie J. Block and asking for an autograph but am unsure of where to send it. Do I just wait until they start rehearsing in NYC before I do so?

I sent a nice hadn-written letter to Gary Beach on the December 13th, last wednesday. And I got a reply back on the 18th! Unfortunately there was no note, But he did sign my Playbill & personalize a headshot for me. So, I'm still over the moon about it.
If any of you write to anyone from "Spring Awakening" let me know if you hear back. I wrote Lea a few weeks ago but I haven't heard back. I'd really like my playbill signed but I'm not sure who to send it to.
