I emailed City Center to a wonderful staff member on the purchasing of merchandise from the Damn Yankees production. I am military and due to deployments, etc. I was going to be unable to fly out to NYC for a quick few days to see the show and shop the gift shop too. I take care of soldiers and their families as a careerist with the Department of Defense - Army branch and have been for 25 years now. So I inquired about the usage of credit card for payment, etc. Well, lo, and behold, I got a VERY SPECIAL surprise in the mail yesterday. The City Center of NYC gave me complimentary gifts with a thank you note for my service to my country as a careerist at no charge. Included in the package were an Original CD of Damn Yankees of the songs, 2 t-shirts, a ball cap, and a Playbill too. Needless to say, I was shocked beyond the universe because I have never had something like that happen to me, EVER. I wish so badly that I could have taken a short get-away weekend to decompress and de-stress from all this war madness and see the show and see Ground Zero where some of the soldiers here at my base have given their lives in OEF/OIF. These wonderful beautiful human beings at The City Center in NYC are to be commended and I am humble and grateful for their random act of kindness towards me. I am a Sean Hayes supporter and admirer who repects him as a person and his gift of talents too numerous for sure. I recommend to everyone to support City Center theater and all their wonderful offerings and the professionals who run the operations there. They ARE the BEST!
What the world needs now is love, sweet love....................
I got a few things back this week... 2 signed headshots and a note from Gavin Lee signed headshot from Lin Manuel Miranda cast signed playbill from Rent (although it was not the current cast. My playbill was signed by Merle Dandridge, who is not in the show anymore. I don't mind. She was a great Joanne) :) Updated On: 8/23/08 at 04:34 PM
I was just organizing stuff and looked closer at the Playbill I'd sent to Laura Benanti to ask her to sign (the one that took less than a week! and right after the Tonys!!). I'd mentioned in my letter that we were going to be seeing the show for my sister and my birthday. When I first looked at the Playbill, I thought it just had my name and then "Best Always! Love, Laura Benanti". But upon closer examination, she'd put "Happy Birthday!" at the top! :)

SGV123, it's spelled correctly. I think next time you should write someone you should atleast know that you are cofident of his last name.
And Broadwaycat, I wrote to Eden her first week to, and have not gotten anything. So either we're out of luck, or she's waiting for Rent to over possibly.
last summer i sent a RENT playbill to adam pascal towards the end of his and anthony's run. i sent it c/o the theatre. i never got anything back and i have no way of knowing if he got it or not. does the theatre have to return the playbill if adam didn't get it or what? can anyone tell me how that works?

So i wrote requests for signed playbills from Phantom, Wicked, Little Mermaid, and Legally Blonde. I got a response in just a week! Holy cow - Phantom of the Opera... it looks like EVERY cast member of the entire show (even chorus) signed. It's pretty cool! For Little Mermaid, the assistant stage manager actually wrote me a little note and sent it with the playbill - very sweet of her! So yea, that was exciting. I got a response from all, except for LB. It has only been not even 2 weeks yet though... i have patience :)!
So, does Cheyenne Jackson answer his fan mail? He has contact info on his website, but if he doesn't answer it, I'll just write him a nice letter.

Received 2 signed photos from Kerry Ellis today. Yesterday I received a signed photo and a very long and sweet card from Kristi Holden - she plays Christine in the Vegas production of Phantom.
A few days ago, I received my WICKED Poster back from Bill Youmans. I recently sent it to Norbert Leo Butz and asked him if he could kindly ask Michelle Federer to sign it as well as they are both married. So I will then forward it to Carole Shelley, Idina Menzel and then try to track down Joel Grey's Address :) Updated On: 9/14/08 at 05:15 AM
