Here's a pic she tweeted, wherein she referred to the NY Philharmonic's SWEENEY TODD. Looks like a makeup test.
Someone needs to help her with her lipstick lines.
That would certainly seem anti-climactic, given all the speculation here!
Still going with the decoy theory. There's gonna be a last minute swap that will happen so fast even Cameron Mackintosh's head would spin.

Why would she be taking time off from her real job at MOTOWN just to be a "decoy?" That makes no sense..
I missed where she says she's the Beggar Woman. Maybe she's just in the cast? Or I missed something

i can't open her twitter? does it confirm Begger woman? there was a run through this morning....anyone attend?
immediate edit: still might be happening.
the suspense is killing me!
Is this what you meant to link? She RTd it; it wasn't her tweet. https://twitter.com/Bryn_Terfel/status/439524668505337856

I don't really understand Twitter. I just saw that picture of her and assumed she tweeted it. Anyway, thanks Lizzie. Yes. That's the picture I had originally posted.
So it appears to still be a mystery...
I'll be there tonight: I'm incredibly excited for this, no matter who the begger woman is!
Right-click on the time stamp and you'll be able to copy the URL directly.
You can see from the username it's not her account. She RTed Bryn Terfel.
A friend of mine who works at the Phil just texted me "The beggar woman is a surprise"
Wow. This is going to be such a letdown if it is indeed the After Midnight girl.
Plz be LuPone or Bernadette.
Audra as the Beggar Woman??
Audra already played it in original version of this concert.
So she knows the role.
A friend who's in this production said whoever is primarily playing the role was not available to do the entire run this week so Bryonha Parham will be playing some of the performances.
How awesome they are doing this. Who knew there'd be so much chatter about the Beggar Woman? I'd pretty much die if it's Donna Murphy, since I'm obsessed with her, but the possibilities are endless.
For them to bend over backwards re: scheduling they must be really special and/or have a relationship with Lonny. Did he direct that Birthday concert? Audra, Bernadette, Patti, Donna or Stritch. It has to be one of them!!

Oh, boy. I have tickets to the Saturday matinee, and I hope the surprise star will be on… I saw the Porgy and Bess revival multiple times, and found Parham's hammy, warbled "My Man's Gone Now" the glaring low point of a production I otherwise loved.
Also - tickets for this evening's performance are now all $75 on the Philharmonic website. A few seats on the center aisles in the middle of the orchestra are blacked out as "stage extension" seats, making me wonder if the Beggar Woman might be coming out of the audience? So excited to hear from anyone going tonight!
Mates I've spotted The Beggar Woman at MOTHERS AND SONS. I suppose she wanted to practice with a real audience.

People seem to have missed a few things. I registered to throw this out there...
This is being filmed on Saturday. Presumably both performances...
"This Fellowship will last from first rehearsal on February 17 through filming on March 8"

Audra is hosting the broadcast, so presumably she'll be there Saturday doing interviews between performances.

Not saying its Audra.... but....
Also... the "Stage Extensions" could be camera locations.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE BE AUDRA
Ok it's totally Audra. The makeup artist must be really good because I didn't recognize her from the photo I took.
