I'm sure this subject has been discussed before, but as I had to witness Saturday Night Fever this week, I just had to give it a mention again. My final vote would go to FAME though! It's been in the UK for 10 odd years now. WHY???????!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had the misfortune of seeing "La Cava."

Well, we should define our terms before the games begin. Are we talking the worst US musical ever to see the Broadway stage? There's so many to consider: Via Galactica and Rockabye Hamlet and Dude instantly spring to mind.

The Best Little Whorehouse Goes Public
Fame has a lot of numbers to be the worst show that I ever seen on stage...
"Vincent The Musical"
Adult Entertainment comes in second place and The Joy's Of Sex is in 69th place.

Corine "Adult Entertainment" was painful but was it a musical?
Of more recent times, Footloose immediately comes to mind, as does Debbie Does Dallas.
Adult Entertainment should not have been a musical but it was billed as one.
So sad.
I actually liked Debbie Does Dallas. I found it quite funny.
Especially the eager cheerleader who is now in Assassins.
She cracked me up.
Sheri is always fantastic in everything she does. I loved her in The Last Five Years!

I really didn't like Footloose at all. It was so boring, and it was my first broadawy show! Thank god I didn't automatically think all broadway shows were as bad as Footloose was.
Fame and Footloose were ten times better than Bombay Dreams. That trainwreck called Bombay Dreams was a complete waste of my time.
Footloose is not that bad. I think that for the purpose it serves it is just fine. Nobody expected it to be this masterpeice of theatre. It is an upbeat rock musical. And I enjoys the music.

I forgot FAME.
I REALLY HATED FAME!
The kids in it were very talented but it was this years worst musical so far.
Guess it is not going to live forever.
Yikes.

I quite liked La Cava, lots of plot!
Notre Dame de Paris has to be one of the worst simply because it was so dull and the staging was practically non-existent: actor comes on. Sings. Goes away again. Repeat until audience can take no more and then thrown in people in bells.

Oh, c'mon, folks, we need true train wrecks here, not these pretenders to the throne. Where's Kelly? Where's Her First Roman? Let's see some real cornerstones of appalling theatre.
Honestly, the worst musical ever was FOLLOW THE GIRLS in 1944. But it so revelled in its cheapness, cheesiness and sleaziness that it beame a huge hit in its day. They don't write them like that any more!!!

The worst musical I can think of that I have sat through would be Napoleon a few years back. It was about 46 hours long and very very very very very boring. With NO good songs. Or staging. Dire.

The worst show I have ever seen in my entirely life would be A Hillbilly Hoedown which played in Tennessee. To this day, I have nightmares about that GAWDAWFUL experience.
But lets hear it for that title.
