After Eight’s quote about tea with jam and bread was indeed my favorite. My 2nd favorite was his hate for “That dirge,The Bridges of Madison County.”

So,  essentially, Sutton Ross is the fraud we all suspected.

I always thought AfterEight was trying to be a parody of something.

Looking through that Fun Home thread, there are a lot of members who don’t post anymore and who I miss. I was 16 when I joined here and I learned a lot from those folks. They were people with a lot of knowledge and experience of Broadway, decades of seeing or working in shows. It was really invaluable just reading the conversations that happened here. For all the bitchiness and eccentricity, there was a massive wealth of knowledge here and a lot of laughs.

I don’t post nearly as much as I used to, but I’ve been here from about 15 or 16. Can’t remember when I started ghosting him before joining. And yeah a lot of these names bring back memories!!!!

it’s always been a lot of periodic drama on here, but lately it’s felt obsessively toxic thanks to Sutton and Boris and mrshowbiz.

We literally were taught how to experience this art form, from the best. It was a great place to be around.

As for After Eight, I guess it’s quite funny how much more intellectually capable even the trolls used to be around here. After Eight would criticise basically every show on Broadway and all of Sondheim etc. but he did so with the utmost hilarity and most importantly he made it clear from the myriad of references and jokes he made that he actually knew every show he was talking about in great detail. It was as if he was Fun Home’s biggest hater and secret low key fan at the same time.

Today our trolls thought F Schneider in Cabaret was Jewish! After Eight would never be seen making such an embarrassing blunder.

"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022) "Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009) "Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000

Ah...the good ol' days. I had the chance to meet in real life some of those folks from that thread and they were as delightful in person as they were on the board.

Apropos of absolutely nothing except strolling down memory lane, there was one thread where people were questioning the sexuality of both performers and BWW posters alike and someone defended their heterosexuality by saying, 'But I love boobs.' I responded (under my old name I think - robbiej) 'Everyone loves boobs. They're aesthetically pleasing and give nourishment. It's p**** that you have to like!' (think the place Louise likes her ice cream.)

Shortly after posting that, I got a pm from a beloved teen member of the board who told me my post made them finally realize and accept that they were gay.

BWW back in the day was truly doing the Lord's work.

"Don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but Mr. Roxy's posts are always fun too."

Quite a few years ago, "Mr. Roxy" recommended a book about Broadway in one of his posts. I got the book and loved it. I sent him a PM to thank him for his recommendation, but he never replied back to me. I could see that he never read my PM. I asked another poster who was friendly with him if he could send him a PM for me. Unfortunately, he got the same result I did when he sent his PM. I remember that "Mr. Roxy" sent me his email address at one time so I sent him an email. I was sad to get the message that the email address could not be found. Considering his age and health issues, I have a gut feeling he sadly passed away. While his posts sometimes could annoy some people, he had great knowledge of Broadway and was quite funny at times.

She will never respond again in a thread when she gets called out for being abusive and lying. She has moved on to another thread (Lincoln Center). She will make a few decent posts but eventually she will go back to her normal self -lol

Mr Roxy kind of went off the right-wing deep end in 2020 during the lockdown, got increasingly bitter and hostile, and then stopped posting in 2021.
