Chenoweth, hands down. No one has played the role quite as well as she did. She was perfection, which you would expect considering it was written for her.
My other favorites were Megan Hilty and Kate Loprest.
runner-ups: Megan Hilty and Kristin Chenoweth. I used to not be able to stand Kendra Kassebaum, but she has grown on me a lot. Took a long time, but I guess now I can say I like her.

I saw Megan Hilty when she first got the role of Glinda on Broadway after being the standby. I thought she was absolutely amazing! When I saw her again in the tour, I really didn't like how she played the role as much. She seemed to be phoning in her performance a lot.
So, with that being said, Kristin Chenoweth and then Megan based on the first performance I saw.
I can't believe so many people are saying Kendra and Annaleigh! How could anyone possibly think they were better than Kristin and JLT?
And you think of all of the things you've seen, and you wish that you could live in between ,and you're back again only different than before...

I’m kinda surprised too because they’re two of the most hyper Galindas, and I always thought that most people think that hyper = annoying. But I think they’re hilarious. I can’t really determine who’s better than who since I like them all. I feel like Kendra and Annaleigh are more spastic, ditzy Galindas (in Act 1 at least), while Kristin and JLT are much more calmer and… sarcastic, I guess. All good, but all so different. I guess it’s just matter of personal preference.
But like I said, I can’t really say who’s the BEST, but the thread is who’s your FAVORITE. So mine is Annaleigh.
“At least people aren't saying Kate Reinders.” LOL.
My favorite Glinda was actually an understudy. I saw Wicked a couple of weeks ago and Lynsey Northen was in that night and she did amazing in the role.
I'm very curious, what is so great about Annaleigh's Glinda? There have been some brilliant Glindas, some average Glindas, and some very annoying Glindas. I'd stick miss Annaleigh in the last category.
And I can't really find myself to buy the whole "but she improved so much!" argument.
I can be a really bad chef, but work hard and practice every day. After a couple months of being a terrible chef, I may start being able to cook food that is edible. However, this doesn't make me eligible to start my own restaurant. Improvement doesn't equal brilliance.
I'm not trying to bash anyone that likes Annaleigh, mind you. I'm just curious about the logic behind her being so many people's favorite. From what I've seen, her Glinda was a bit like doing a Cheno impression while on speed.
Lindsay Northen!!! I got to see her second performance! Loved her, she wasn't a spaz in Act 1 and was able to make the transistion to Act 2 very well. Great voice.
