I think they look adorable, but here, let me imagine all the comments sure to follow from "the experts"

"I don't like those glasses Travolta is wearing around his neck...they are ALL WRONG for Edna"

"Why are they in a music store? Must Hollywood change EVERYTHING??"

"Why is the wall painted that drab off-white. The production design for this movie is clearly lacking in color and I for one will NOT spend my money on it"

"Why does John Travolta only have 4 fingers?"

"Tracy would NEVER put her right hand over her left hand like that. The 5th understudy I heard about being fabulous and better than Marissa didn't do that with her hands when someone I know's cousin saw it."

"Those bangs on Travolta must be there to hide something. Everyone knows "Edna" doesn't wear bangs"

"The music on those keyboards in the back looks weird to me. I am sure it is not the sheet music for "Taylor The Latte Boy" and therefore, I will NOT be going to see this movie"

and of course...

"WHY are they remaking "Hairspray". There is no reason they should make this movie. I mean, what's different?"

I really like it, but i hope they do jazz up the costumes as the movie goes on.

Ah, man, I love Nikki as Tracy! She's PERFECT. Just look at her. I love that girl!

Travolta's starting to look more like the part. He actually is growing on me, I've gotta say. I'd love to see him in the Edna-Laundry costume at some point or another.

Also, question for Marc: is Travolta going to be speaking in any sort of character voice? I know some past Ednas have made attempts to imitate Harvey's grogginess, but will Travolta be doing that as well? I'd be curious to know.

And funniest statement of the week? "Tracy would NEVER put her right hand over her left hand like that." Ah, man, Marc. MAN.

yeah, cause all 3 of the costumes you've seen have made it abundantly clear what all 1200 of the other costumes will look like.

marc, while some of the people dogging the film are going overboard, there are some people who just have some general concerns. I think that's normal. Especially considering how Phantom, Rent, and The Producers turned out.

well, I have not a care in the world as to how this movie turns out, but I actually don't like the plaid. it's fine on the big screen, but usually, for me, plaid makes some things unwatchable since it seems to move on film when seen on a television.

well Mateo, it's great that you love it, but unfortunately, word just arrived from the set that due to CATSNYRevival's concerns about how plaid will come across when the film of HAIRSPRAY The Musical is shown on TV in 2012, the film has been shut down.

Agreed, but those things don't exactly relate to the topic of this message board. So many people love Hairspray. I'm sure it would be difficult for a lot of them to not be passionate about it.
