I won a gift certificate at my local collage. For most original costume. I was Kira/ Clio from XANADU. I would give you pics but we have to wait till they publish it into the collage newsletter later next month.

I thought my Tessie Tura costume was a great hit last night, although I received some criticism for not having shaved my chest. I guess you just can't please everyone!
I was a sheep and went as Palin, and I'm sure there were many more. My boyfriend was a moose and I had a nerf gun, pageant ribbon and tiara. For the costume contest they did groups of three, and we happened ot be grouped with a very clever costume: a pregnant pageant queen with a sash taht said "Miss Conception."
Unfortunately I didn't get a costume this year, but if I go to a party tonight I probably will go as Palin and wear my suit and glasses and maybe get a sash and American flag. Yep, I'm cheap.
I'll be the loser who posts pictures.
Last year I went as Paulette from Legally Blonde. I made my costume myself, hand-sewn and everything.
And this year, I did Palin as well, since I get jokes about looking like her all the time:

For one party I went as Eloise. Then for my musical theater group's party my friends and I went as [tos]
wow Kelly2, your Palin kick mine in the butt! I guess I'm just a little too Jewish and redheaded :) Your Paulette is also awesome.
"wow Kelly2, your Palin kick mine in the butt! I guess I'm just a little too Jewish and redheaded :) Your Paulette is also awesome."
Thank you! :) I had a lot of fun both years! Palin was a little more fun though because people actually knew what I was!
Last year I was Eponine. Probably the best halloween costume I've ever had/ever will have. This year I went as Jeff from [tos] :)
I was Linda Porter (Coles wife)!!!
NOONE got it.
I'm so dissappointed in this world.
Your Palin is great, Kelly. I really wanted a gun!
I'm the boy in the picture.
and of course, with Joe Six-Pack:
When my nephew was 8, he went as the Phantom. We dressed him in black with a hat and cape, and a little Phantom 1/2 mask
(he had seen some Phantom songs on a PBS concert and was totally obsessed with listening to the soundtrack)
On Halloween he was the best-dressed 8 year old out there (or maybe I'm a little biased )
And when he was 10 I took him to NYC for the first time to see POTO for his birthday
Those are happy memories, and this thread made me remember them
No offense, Theactr, but you REALLY look just like her.
You are a very pretty boy, I guess?
Awesome costumes everyone!
Here is my Little Red Riding Hood costume. I am very proud of myself for making the cape and my little apron thing myself.
My sister still needs to send me the one she took when we were out. And I still would like to know why this outfit made really disgusting guys hit on me all night.
I was Little Red Riding Hood this year too and I had the same problem, Marianne! I don't know what it was, but I kept getting followed around by real creepers.
I went as Elle Woods, with almost an exact SO MUCH BETTER costume (except my skirt had a different pink pattern on it). But I had the three quarter jean jacket, the grey tank with pink lace trim, and A list taped to my back with the interns names on it, mine circled, and "warner and elle forever" in a heart written on it in pink sharpie. I also was carrying a pink dog purse with a chihuahua stuff animal. It was fun!
Thanks, Schmerg! I'm really proud of how amazingly the costume turned out.
I joked that, God forbid she wins, but if she did (knock on wood) I could make a decent living as a Palin impersonator. I have the dialect down pretty solidly.
I saw a kids as Moritz - I was impressed. Simple and creative, complete with hairdo and Chuck Taylors.
Last year, I was Dr. Frank N Furter when I went to Salem, Mass. for Halloween. No one knew who I was..I should have guessed that. This year, I stayed in NY and I was one of the "Newsboys" from Gypsy.

I was Sally Bowles this year. The BROADWAY Sally Bowles. Not Liza. I really played up the drug addict Sally. I drew bruises on my arms, track marks, scratches, scars, etc.
In addition to the makeup, wig and such, I wore garters, thigh highs, black pumps and a black feather boa off and on. Every now and then I'd substitute the boa for the "Mein Herr" leather jacket. And of course I painted my fingernails green. that was the first thing I bought for the costume, the green nail polish, LOL.
I got mistaken for Frank-N-Furter 3 times. I didn't encounter any true thespians who would recognize me. Grrrr. But at least I didn't get mistaken for Velma Kelly.
I love this thread:)
Hah, I love it too. I wouldn't be creative enough to come up with a Broadway costume.
I planned on going as Janet van de Graaff but I ended up not finding anything I liked, and I didn't go to the party I was supposed to.
