Manoel Felciano wrote a Myspace blog post today about how someone stole his and Lauren Molina's sliders (the little boards with their names on it) from the theatre. He sounds pretty pissed:

"As many of you know in the lobby of our (and every) theater there is a board with sliders of our names that are used to identify who is in the company and who is on as an understudy if someone is out.

Mine and Lauren Molina's were STOLEN yesterday. Not cool. Illegal. Stupid. Irresponsible. Selfish.

if you have them, please return them, you can drop them anonymously or mail them to the theater:

230 west 49th
NYC 10019

We go out of our way to sign for everyone and respond to fanmail and requests for signed headshots and playbills. Please respect our theater and our work."

OOPS.

I mean REALLY...who does that? Hope he gets them back!

They stole Manoel's and Lauren's over Patti or Michael's? Hmmpph. If I were either one of them I'd be kinda miffed.
Poor mano. First they take his tony, now they take his slider. What does he have left in the world? A bio that reads Brooklyn?
side note--I love the word miffed!

back to the topic--a tad obsessive/weird

I swear it wasn't me. I wonder how long it takes for the haters to start seeing this
If it's in Mano's blog, then it clearly did happen, so why is the thread title a question?

WickedGeek, I like the sentiment, but... now people are going to jump into the exhausted Tony argument again. :-/

The fact that people would steal them is creepy. That's got to be a new height (or low point, as it were, I guess!) of obsessive fan behavior. I can't believe someone would do that.

Although it could be an obsessive fan, I'm going to assume it was just some teenager looking to steal something easily.

Geez...why doesn't he just come out and say "I know one of you freaks stole it now give it back!"

It's completely wrong to steal them but come on. What are they, like, $20 bucks to replace?

		     			That's not the point.
Stealing is immature and selfish.
There's no reason, no matter how much they are to replace.

Totally my thought, too.

I read that earlier. It's just...I mean, why would someone do that?
I'm kind wondering if there aren't extras kept around... and if not, why. But that's beside the point.

I'm sure they're inexpensive and easy to replace, but I think it's about the conceptual principle of the matter rather than the monetary value of the sliders. Disrespect was done to the place of their work, and on whatever scale, that's just not cool.

Not only was disrespect done to the place of their work, but it was done to them, too. It was just a totally idiotic thing for someone to do.

They should somehow attach those slider board in a glass case (like the posters)
okay, come on now...which one of you mano fans did it?
OK, disrespect isn't "done."

I'm one of his Myspace friends. It is a little...accusatory. Hmmph. Now I'm miffed.

Wouldn't there be some kind of security around it? Not necessarily guarding said board, but that seems sketchy that such a person wasn't caught! Those are some big sliders!

Having said that, admittedly, that's a pretty cool souvenir to have. Had it been obtained legally somehow.

Well, COOOOLkid, they're easily removable for a reason... so that might defeat the purpose.

WBAF, disrespect is a noun. It can be done. As can an act of disrespect.

Well, that means someone likes you! They really do!

But I bet it was someone on BWW in the Mano thread. Overobsession goes too far.

BSo, don't lie. You sleep with that thing under your pillow.

I don't think putting a glass case over it would make it any less "easily removable". They would just have to unlock it to change the sliders.
