Last night was seriously fun at the Chatterbox, guys! One favorite thing that I learned during the interview was that, during the show, the script that they put into the manila envelope is actually the original version of the script that they submitted to the festival, and that Jeff thumbs through it each night and often sees pieces that have subsequently been cut/changed/updated. I LOVED that bit of trivia and the incredibly sweet expression that he had on his face when he told it. There were lots of nice moments like that, and it was amazing for me to sit at a table--and indeed in a room full of people--who [potentially cheesy yet heartfelt use of language coming up] cherish these people and this work as much as I do.
Susan's interview is just totally awesome. I can just hear her saying every word and she seems exactly like the warm, articulate, caring person who greets you at the stage door (as did Hunter and Jeff when they told their stories last night). At our table before the show, we were discussing reasons why [tos] resonates with so many people (particularly teens and twenty-somethings), and I think the fact that these guys all seem so genuine is definitely another one of those reasons.
And Mo Rocca Roccs.
Hunter alert at the Zipper tomorrow night at 10:30, bitches!

So we went to the York Theatre tonight to see The Lady in Penthouse B and who was sitting in the front row on the aisle?
Mary Stout herself!
I wonder if she's getting tired of strangers making hot-dog jokes?
BroadwayLocal: Not to threadjack, but what did you think of The Lady In Penthouse B?
I can't get enough of the fabulous Sally Wilfert!!!
(my favorite Broadway Blonde Bombshell alongside H.B.)
Well here is a little blast from the past...
And interview that my friend Ken (from That's Kentertainment) did with the cast back at the Vineyard...
Here's Part 1 of 3. (Fast forward through the Ryan Greer stuff...)

PalJoey, we never said a word about the hot dog cart -- just a nod in her direction to let her know she'd been spotted. But that stuff always happens at the York. The first time we saw a show there, we spied Alan Menken two rows in front of us and Kurt Vonnegut Jr. on the other side of the aisle.
2L Pepsi, funny you should ask. The sparse mufti-like staging made it feel like the [tos] gang were doing a musical of The Devil Wears Prada starring Patti. Two chairs, a bench and a phone.
Sally Wilfert was wonderful as the evil gossip columnist's assistant. At one point mid-song, she lost her bookmark in the script so she, her dog (JD Webster) and the pianist (Mark Hartman) did a hysterical ad-lib while she madly flipped through the pages.
[end of threadjack]
And now back to our [title of show].
Anybody wanna help out with the lotto for the matinee tomorrow? :)
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Whoa... the NY Times voting thing for [tos] blows my mind...

I like the clearly edited photo Jeff putt up of Heidi
WHAT?!? That was edited??
Hey [tos]sers!
So I finally recovered from being ill and made a Happy Opening video for [title of show]...it's late now, but it all gets explained in the video!

Well done to everyone for helping them raise the ranks on the NY Times!
So who's given the peeps at [title of show] a present? Even though I'm far from the US but I made them all little [tos] dolls of themselves. Jeff, Hunter, Heidi and Susan all got full sized ones (as in larger ones) while I made Larry, Ben and Courtney smaller ones. They loved them! So what other things have people created/given?
Susan mentions the action figures in the Diva Talk article- so I'm glad I didn't make action figures like I planned on doing.
Sean
Wow, that's so nice of you! I gave Hunter rainbow twizzlers, because...well on his facebook he says he liked them.
I made them each a round white fan on a wooden stick (along the lines of the Mermaid and Hairspray ones)that say [tos] [fan]. They seemed to really like them--Susan had me sign and date hers--and they have them in their dressing rooms!
If I get there at 1:45 for the lottery of the 3:00 show today, I should be good, right?
Sorry, just paranoid!
How does the lottery work?
Lottery- names are taken an hour and a half before the show, and drawn at 1 hour before.
Travis - You will be fine.

I saw the show on Friday night...and I'm in love. I've followed it since it's Off-Broadway run and I loved it even more than I thought I would. Susan told me I look like I could be Kerry Butler's little sister...so she called me Lil Kerry. (That's how she spells little, not me) :)
I know there is another thread already, but I wanted to post this link here as well--
