Maybe Off-Broadway? Don't see this doing well on Broadway regardless of the cast.

If this happens, hopefully the material is updated. I revisited the original cast album recently and while parts of it are quite funny, there are some things that defffffffinitely wouldn't fly today, and should rightfully be addressed.

This wasnt successful on Bway at all. Ran just over 3 months, 115 performances (including previews)
I thought it was adorable, but it is very niche.

I love [tos]- it was on Broadway right when I moved to NYC and it was the perfect show for a college freshman studying theater to see after moving to the city. I saw it quite a number of times in its short run. But I do agree it was very much a show from a specific time with a very specific set of creator-performers involved. I know it's gone on to be licensed and produced without that original cast, but it doesn't seem to have held onto to its following much or established itself as a show in regular repertory. It's kind of hard to imagine it being done now.

The guy seemed to suggest Lea Michele is diong this along with Kevin McHale, but didn't somebody say in the Chess thread a couple months ago that she's supposedly attached to a new show that will be done first maybe in California? I can't remember all the details of that rumour and it's so hard to search for specific comments here.

According to his post, it’ll be on Broadway.
Sounds like producers are counting on the stars to pull in the crowds.
No indication as to whether any of the material has been updated.

maybe if Streep and Short are doing it ...
otherwise they should advertise a closing night 2 days after the first preview.

Meryl Streep? She's fierce.

A drag queen!

The show seems so tailored to those specific performers. I'd think they'd have to update the material somehow?

It's coming. There's already an IG page up for it, titleofshowbway.

It's not unusual for accounts to be created at very early discussions just to lock down the name.

Producers are looking for dirt cheap shows to produce and this is certainly one of them.
I find it so depressing.

Depends who is in it.

Agreed. If they're going to play to the GLEE nostalgia I'd rather see something like Lea/Groff in John & Jen or this same rumored cast in Ordinary Days. Those are two four hander musicals that make more sense on paper for this crew....

Yes it's cheap compared to a larger musical (probably not cheap compared to a play), but I also remember it as a good show that I would be totally fine seeing again. Especially if this version can sell better than the original because of interesting casting.
Or to put it another way: I'd prefer this over an empty theatre...
Everyone on here knows the economics of Broadway are bad right now. There's nothing that's going to change that in the immediate future until we can get some combination of lower expenses and higher volume of ticket sales.

I mean, All Out and All In was very starry and both failed.
