DAMMIT!!!!!!!!
Melora Walters sure didn't have a big story arc on the show - she was fascinatingly nutty and i really wanted to know more about her but then she had to open the door in a tornado and now she's probably somewhere in Oz.
Please tell me that Tom and the kids (and Ida) are not dead. Please, please, please. Although, Felicity Huffman's face and primal scream from the bottom of her soul ripped my heart in two.
I still think there's more going on with Dana Delaney than she's letting on. Something with the daughter who maybe isnt her daughter. The explanation about Melora Walters was too neat and tidy for this show.
UGH! Someone has got to find the paperwork to Carlos's account and spend that money on renovation of Wisteria Lane.

Well, the voiceover at the beginning said, "someone will lose a husband, and another woman will lose a friend." I read a spoiler that Victor would die by impalment with the fence--that came true and he *is* Gaby's husband. I also believe that the friend could be Ida, so, no main characters.
Before I read the spoiler, based on seeing the promos with Lynette screaming then hearing the opening voiceover, in the first half I thought it would be Tom dying from asthma--how terrible would that be! I think her scream was just from seeing her house levelled. She screamed "Tom! Help me!" and tore for the house. It didn't look like Tom and the kids were out of the house yet, so I think we'll see them emerge.
I like the idea of using the money to clean up Wisteria Lane, though! And look at that, Gaby won't have to worry about Victor anymore. Man, did he take a psycho turn, the last few episodes!
I also love Dana Delaney, but her character is SO miserably b****y. I agree with you, she's probably got many more skeletons.

Wasn't it Mrs McCluskey's house since weren't Lynette and Mrs McCluskey hiding in Lynette and Tom's house? Her scream was because Tom and the kids were still in the basement...
Sucks that we won't know until the writer's strike is over!
Yeah it wasn't Lynette's house that was destroyed - it was Ms. McClusky's. Remember that Lynette and Ms. McClusky took shelter in LYNETTE'S house.

Oh, I thought they took shelter in Mrs. McCluskey's bathroom, not the Scavo's. Sorry.
I still think they haven't died, though. They were in the basement, not in the upper floors that were ripped down. Yes, someone could argue something fell on them. I just don't believe it. They have too many interesting storylines as a family.
Speaking of which--where has Kayla, the illegitimate daughter, been, the last few episodes? She wasn't even in the basement with them today. Lynette said her 4 kids would be down there, not 5.
Yeah I agree that they all probably aren't dead. I just... can't see that working out having them all not be apart of the plot anymore.
And I thought Kayla was in the basement? I could have sworn I saw her... maybe not.
Was this the last episode that was filmed before the writers strike?

I believe so.
These people were preparing as if it was a hurricane, not a tornado. That tornado lasted all day.
I got the impression when Marcia Cross was on The View that they had been filming amongst the destruction.
However, was this the last episode before the new year? And will they air any episodes without having completed the season?
It was indeed confusing which house was leveled at the end. But I am guessing it was Ms. McCluskey's with Ida and Lynette's family trapped below.
The follow-up episode has been filmed, according to various articles, blogs and forums. There just isn't an air date slated for it yet. Sucks.
This blog reports that a funeral sequence was definitely filmed:

I would be really surprised if the producers and writers killed off Lynette's family. I would definitely miss Tom's middle-aged sexiness but it would be pretty unprecedented to have the star of a dramedy series dealing with loss of child(ren) and a husband, wouldn't it?
Was anyone else in stitches over Sylvia getting swept out the door by the tornado? That was hilariously cartoonish. I screamed and laughed out loud.

I thought it was an excellent episode. What I'd like to know, what happened to the gay neighbors? They weren't on this episode or last week's.
Also where was Susan's daughter?
The friend that died is probably Ida's cat. Lynnette and Mrs. McCluskey took shelter in Dana Delaney's house. Karen McCluskey's house was the one destroyed.
Dottie: I was wondering the same thing, the gay neighbors and all the teenagers were missing from this episode. I would think Bree would have mentioned something about Andrew, and where is her daughter again? Did she go back to the convent? And Susan seemed only concerned about Mike, where was her daughter? The writers took these two mothers and stripped them of any of their maternal instincts.
As far as the Scavo's: Mrs. McCluskey did say to Lynette that she couldn't accomodate 7 people, so that includes everyone.
Well, the actress who plays Mrs. McClusky was on The View and she said it was in her contract before she signed with the show that her character would not die. The actress has been in so many shows where her character has been killed off that she said she did not want that to happen again. Lynette just went through cancer treatments so it would be cruel to kill off her entire family. Personally, I thought Nicolette Sheridan did a great job with her scenes with Eva Longoria-Parker. Sylvia being blown out the door was so predicatable yet so fascinating to watch. (kind of like when that mean attorney fell in the elevator shaft on LA Law). The friend is probably the cat because Mrs. McClusky kept making a point about it being her friend's only friend (or it could be the old woman since she is not a central character). Eva's husband the mayor sure mustered up a lot of energy to fight Carlos considering the fact that he just got out of the hospital. Very predicatable that he would die- just not that freaky. The character of Susan is the most annoying and I didn't like her storyline last night. I really don't like Mike's story line either. Not much comment on Bree's family- just kind of whatever. Great job for the set designers though- what a mess! mom
I can't decide if I like that the show started with the "a friend would die and a woman would lose a husband" or not. On the one hand, it kept the suspense of who was going to get die raised tremendously during the hour. On the other - there is ZERO drama now as to whether or not Tom is alive. It said ONE woman would lose a husband. Victor is gone. Tom is 100% safe or the writers have completely betrayed any sense of decent story telling and will have lost the audience's trust. I'm guessing Tom and the kids are safe, but Ida is a goner.
BTW - could a picket fence actually impale someone like that?? I wouldn't think it would be sharp enough to actually bore through the middle of your chest!
From the phone conversation that Dana Delaney had with her daughter, Julie and her are away for a school project or something...remember she said to her..I'll make sure that Julie's mom is okay.
I think I remember the show starting with, "someone would lose a husband, and everyone would lose a friend." If that's so, then I doubt it's the cat, who is not really a friend to everyone
Dana Delaney's daugther was away with Susan's daughter. During a phone conversation, Dana said, "no it's no reason to cut your trip short. And tell Julie I'll keep an eye on Susan for her."
Andrew moved away last week. I'm don't remember where Bree's daughter is. But I think she's been gone for at least a week, because last week Andrew kept talking about leaving the three of them to themselves.
Jason, yes with winds that high, it's highly likely that something like a fence could impale something/someone.
Lynette kind of annoyed me last night being so flippant towards another living thing (Ida's cat) especially since what she just went through with the possum. Granted Tom has asthma, but for her not to have any sympathy towards someone else's "family" seemed kind of out of character for her.

And, considering she more or less browbeat Mrs. McClusky to take them in, I thought she had a lot of nerve dictating who should and should not be in the basement.
I thought I remembered hearing "everyone would lose a friend" as well.
I loved McClusky telling Lynette how she has not been a friend at all. It was a ncie slap in the face to Lynette, who probably did not even realize that she was doing it
i hope no deer were hurt on this one
or kitties.

I completely laughed also- that was just some bad bad bad special effects time right there.
So this was actually my question: what kind of hospital gives prescription strength painkillers to a pregnant woman? For a sprained ankle, a sprain that she is capable of walking on? Wouldn't you save the hardcore drugs for something more serious in that case? Or am I just clueless here?
