Lifted it from the current Forbidden Broadway.

"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali

Oh, so THAT's why it's closing.

The 'burbs can't laugh at themselves... but NY used to be able to.

Yeah, they probably don't find that funny. They think Mary Poppins, Shrek and Legally Blonde are the pinnacle of the art form.

I think it's friggin' hilarious.

I'd also love to see Disney's next endeavor be "Hunchback of Notre Dame".

It was produced in Berlin. I saw it in 1999.

I'm sure it will happen at some point but I would love to see Disney's "Enchanted" come to Broadway.

The Big Lebowski would be pretty interesting in musical form.

I'd rather be reckless than rockless.

I'm not sure Valley of the Dolls would make it as a musical on Broadway. Today's audiences are much too sophisticated to accept a trashy book and movie being turned into a stage musical...you know, the same audience that made such cerebral shows like "Xanadu" & "Legally Blonde" hits.

Seriously though, the Andre and Dory Previn songs for "Valley" and several other movies in the 1960's would at least be a giant step above much of what is passing for music on Broadway today.

Monster-In-Law:

Patti LuPone as Viola Fields
Cheyenne Jackson as Kevin Fields
Karen Olivo as Charlie

Across the Universe:

Jim Sturgess as Jude
Evan Rachel Wood as Lucy
Joe Anderson as Max
Dana Fuchs as Sadie
Martin Luther McCoy as JoJo
T.V. Carpio as Prudence

(I actually ahd a lot of plans for this one, including cutting a couple songs, adding in "We Can Work It Out" at the Thanksgiving dinner, slimming down the character of Prudence a lot, and combining Jude's Dad, Dr. Robert, the Army Enlister, Mr. Kite, and the Crazy Man who sings "Come Together" into one actor, and using a lot of projections.)

Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog:

Neil Patrick Harris as Dr. Horrible
Cheyenne Jackson as Captain Hammer
Celia Keenan-Bolger as Penny
Hunter Bell as Moist
Norm Lewis as Bad Horse

Sunset Boulevard.

When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain. -Kad

I say Labyrinth. There are already a few great songs to work with. What a great story, too! If they can do Shrek, they could surely do this one.

Also, The Nightmare Before Christmas would be awesome.

I once heard someone describe her (Ruthie Henshall) singing as sounding as though she's trying to swallow a whole meatball slightly larger than her windpipe. (The same person compared Michael Ball's singing to sounding as though he's sitting on a washing machine on spin cycle and Colm Wilkinson's to a man with a paralyzed lip trying to eat cottage cheese.) --- Schmerg_The_Impaler

haha I totally agree that Dr. Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog would be funny, only if NPH did it though...

also, not a musical, but Death at a Funeral would make for a hilarious play

It really should have been a play. That was a funny-ass movie.

"Miss Congeniality with Stephanie J. Block"

Wow, that's the best idea I've seen so far. That could actually work REALLY well. Stephanie may not be the perfect casting choice, but she'd definitely be worth a shot.

Shoshana Bean might be kind of funny. I think she could pull off the awkward tomboy a little better. But as far as someone who would actually do it...I have to think harder.

Cheyenne Jackson or Matt Morrison as Agent Matthews
Patti Lupone as the Mean Pageant Lady (name?)
