Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist.
Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino.
This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more.

This was announced a while ago and I am actually really excited for it. Hal Prince is such a visionary and to experience this breadth of his theatrical work in one shot really appeals to me. I can see why some people wouldn't be into this concept, but I feel like it could also expose them to his lesser-known work. For example, I think "You've Got Possibilities" from Superman is one of the best songs ever written for a musical.
And I really hope they get Tony Yazbeck back for this. Ramin Karimloo might still be tied up with Anastasia. Hell, I myself would love to be in this cast!
Thanks for posting the link Lizzie, I was just boarding an aircraft when I saw the story. Had no idea this had been announced earlier, I'm with you really excited to see this, hope it's a huge hit for them. Wonder if Caroline O'Connor will rejoin the cast as well?

I like this news a lot! I seem to be in the minority around here but I really enjoyed his performance in Sunset Boulevard so I'm happy to have the opportunity to see him again so soon.
I assume Xavier is taking the track that Ramin Karimloo was in.

Same. Since he is getting so little love from the critics and potentially Tony Awards, I thought he may not stay on Broadway after Sunset Blvd. So glad that he will stick around for a little longer!

Karen Ziemba will be replacing Nancy Opel! I think this is a nice trade-off. Both excellent performers. I doubt the show will be any worse or better off from this change.
So looking forward to this. I'm not usually a fan of revues, but this is so many of my favorite things...
Its WAY more than that - it's more like JEROME ROBBINS' BROADWAY with full sets and costume recreations. It's not just actors singing songs from each show represented.
Even the legendary multi-level scaffolding set of the original 1970 Broadway production of COMPANY is recreated for the COMPANY sections/numbers:

How are they going to recreate the lake scene from Phantom?
