Per a new casting call, it seems as though HAIRSPRAY will be touring non-AEA. Not a huge surprise.

I posted this in the Chicago thread, but I am perplexed and hoping someone in here knows something.

Broadway Across Canada announces the season for Vancouver, Edmonton, and Calgary. It all matches except for Chicago, which is coming to Vancouver only.

Now the Chicago Tour website is up, and I am seeing they are going to Calgary, Edmonton, and Lethbridge in March for 1 to 2 show stints. I recall everyone from the Calgary and Edmonton markets being upset that BAC didn't include the show in their 20/21 season. But also, Vancouver isn't currently on their tour list.

Is this the same tour? I've never seen this before.

Could it be at a different venue? Here in Houston The Hobby Center is where the tour go for the first run and sometimes a return engagement, but we also have Society for the Performing Arts that will bring in the tours from time to time. They brought SPONGEBOB and CHICAGO as well. Perhaps this is what's happening there as well.

I mean, in Edmonton and Calgary specifically, the show is going to the same houses that BAC shows go to. It's just so strange to me.

Proctors in Schenectady

Someone typed this faster than I could, but a few things to note:

Though it's being sold as part of the current season, to replace the cancelled week of Hello Dolly, Come From Away plays Proctors September 8-13, 2020

Hadestown will, presumably, begin load in for it's tech precess on or about September 14, in advance of first performance on October 13

Aida formally launches at Paper Mill in New Jersey February 4-March 7, 2021. Production loads out of Paper Mill on March 8, and into Proctors to quickly re-tech for the road on March 9, in advance of first performance on March 16.

Sometimes for shorter engagements it's another presenter - even in the same building. BAC rents the Jubilee Auditoriums to do their presentations. Example: the recent WE WILL ROCK YOU tour bookings in the Jube's were not BAC shows.

Has anyone seen the current My Fair Lady tour? I checked ticket prices for East Lansing (there are scores of tickets available for this weekend's shows) and they seem pretty outrageous. $97 before fees for a balcony seat. I didn't pay that much to see Lion King or Les Miz. Just wondering how the show is.

That does seem kind of pricey for balcony seats.

I just bought tickets for My Fair Lady in Columbus for March 14 and I paid around $120. That is for orchestra seats.

I saw the tour while it was in tech here in Syracuse and it was great and I’m sure it has only gotten stronger. I RARELY pay much to see tours because I’m only about four and a half hours from the city and see just about everything (for MUCH cheaper prices) but it was a top notch tour.

Yes. I'm really only excited for & Juliet and Oklahoma. It just frustrating because where is The Prom, or Tootsie, Frozen, or Hadestown...hell, I'm surprised they didn't take Pretty Woman to have a tie in with Bryan Adams!

Looks like the possibility of more frequent trips to Buffalo are in my future, maybe even a subcription!
