Hi all! I was able to see Moulin Rouge! after winning the lottery for Wednesday's matinee. The seats were $29.00 each with a $5.00 service charge per ticket, so very reasonable. We were given Orchestra Row K, the last seats at the right side of the row. They were partial view, which was a real shame, since this show's visuals are it's biggest selling point. I would advise anyone who is going to see this show to get to the theatre a little early, because you are allowed to take pictures in front of the stage. The set design and lighting design are absolutely gorgeous, and definitely make this show quite the Broadway spectacle. Here's a link to a video of the set I posted on Instagram:

As for the show itself, I really enjoyed it. The score is tapestry of pop hits, so those of you who need original music might not care for that part. Even taking that into account, I recommend keeping an open mind about it. The set design, choreography, and performances more than make up for the lack of an original score.
I’ve been trying the lottery for a while with no luck . I’m still hopeful though haha. How bad were the seats? Just want to know for when I win...gotta stay positive!

I'd say from where we sat, we couldn't see about a third of the stage. I still really enjoyed myself, so it was a great deal, don't get me wrong. If you can, just enter every single day. Now will be the easiest time to win. Once word gets around it'll probably get significantly harder.
I won the lotto a few weeks ago while it was still in previews (July 25th maybe?) I was second row mezz right like three seats in from the right. My seat was labeled partial view and it definitely was. The elephant trunk blocked like 1/3 of the stage. Im not too upset about it. Im not a huge fan of the show and for $30 or whatever it was I can’t really complain.
I won for today's matinee, and I got right orchestra, seats 24 and 26. Almost a third of the stage is obstructed, but given the price, I can't really complain.
Can report that my lottery tickets were Mezz A, all the way to the right. Behind the elephant, if you will. Highly obstructed view, but you can't beat the price!
I won the lotto for tonight’s show and also got Mezz Row A seats 20 and 22. The elephant trunk is right there in front if you. . Most of the time it isn’t a terrible issue, but there are some scenes where it’s really annoying. I was thinking why didn’t they make the trunk moveable and just kinda curl it up into the box during the preshow ‘stuff’. But then the seats wouldn’t be $29.
Won last Thursday for the matinee for 1 ticket. Got Right Mezzanine, C24. Given that they were marked as partial, I wasn't expecting the best time, but I will admit, I was more than satisfied with my seats. Sure, the elephant trunk did block the occasional actor or two, but I felt like I saw everything that was important. I'd imagine the people in Row A had it worse though, as the trunk was directly in front of them. Actually, my grievances were more due to the people in the lower rows, who were constantly leaning forward. But that will always be a problem in the Mezz (or at least, it has with me), and I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, that they really can't see without moving.
On the other hand, the woman sitting directly next to me in C22 told me that her seat wasn't marked as partial view and that she paid $200 for it. She was very upset that. I believe her husband complained during Act 1 and they were moved during intermission, so I got to move over for Act 2. It was a better view, but not by much; I can understand how someone who paid $200 would be upset about the trunk in their way.
I won this past Saturday night; my seats were 4th row orchestra all the way to the left. It was a VERY obstructed view. I’d say I couldn’t see about 1/3 of the stage towards the front and I couldn’t see any of the back. For $29 I was happy but I would have been pretty upset if I paid full price for those seats. Obstructed view at other shows has never been quite so obstructed!
I won the lottery for last night’s show (Sun 9/15 7pm). Mezz C24/26. As noted, The elephant trunk obstructed the view sometimes, but usually only blocking a single actor with minor action on stage left. My friend and I leaned each other’s way to get a better view when necessary. For the price, it’s a good seat!
I was lucky to finally win the lottery! I was wondering if it makes any difference what time you pick up your tickets, regarding best seating choices ( since i know they're obstructed view) ? Two hours before, or closer to show time? Thank you!
I won a can can seat last weekend. I think the seat was F3 (single chair on left side, end of the row). I got the regular email that I didn't win but then got an email at 6pm saying I had won for the next night. Ticket was $34 with fees.
There's definitely a fair amount of twisting around so if you're sensitive to those motions, can can seats might not be best for you. Though in F3, I think you'd have more freedom than a bench seat to just sort of angle the chair a bit to try and reduce the motion. There were definitely times where I was watching the stage but knew performers were dancing on the bridge behind me. I really enjoyed the interaction and the immersion though. At one point, Ziegler is looking for Satine and Danny kept asking us if we had seen her.
I found out in the lottery email. There are special rules if you are sitting in Can Can seats so they would have to alert you ahead of time, good luck!

I'm also curious about this. For those who won, were the tickets already in an envelope when you picked them up?
