Got word that Girl From the North Country will be filmed this Thursday, 4/28. I have no idea what the plan is for release, but got word about a "live capture" and they are looking for seat fillers. Exciting news!
Apologies if this has already been shared, I did a quick search here and didn't find anything.

I’d happily be a seat filler if anyone hears more about this. Loved that show.
Not only did this come back TWICE after next to nobody asked for it, but we might also get a video recording? And we can’t even get a Company cast recording?
C’MON, THEATRE GODS! This isn’t funny anymore!!!
Slightly off topic but is there any chance of this show getting extended beyond June 11? I'm planning a trip for July and would love to see it.
I must agree with Jordan. Marc Kudisch was wonderful in this show. His big scene in the second act broke my heart both times I saw it.
Do we know that it isn't just for the Lincoln Center TOFT archive?
If they're looking for seat fillers it must be a pro-shot sorta thing. The Lincoln Center stuff is just a fixed camera focused on the stage.

Though there are indeed a few full-stage static camera archives the Lincoln Center has done, the big scope of their archives are done using several camera angles (such as their archive of the pre-Broadway A CHORUS LINE in 1975). All of their archives from the 1990s on have used several cameras. They don’t use any shots of the audience so the request for seat fillers is definitely not a request they ever make.
Okay, so they’re taking the Come From Away route with this filming? This isn’t just a Lincoln Center archives taping?
Until confirmed otherwise, no one here has demonstrated that the "word" is for anything other than TOFT. (As noted, the days of single static camera TOFT recordings are long gone.)

It’s also weird that it isn’t just a scheduled performance that they are filming. It is what would be their invited dress.
Oh that is interesting. Could be they’re just filming a new promo video to feature Bierko, hence the seat fillers for a performance not otherwise on sale.
Best answer. Why would Bierko’s very first performance in the role be used for a pay per view or other presentation?

Over-confidence?
The more I hear the more I think this is a B-roll shoot, but I don't know...

Not unless it wins enough Tony awards to get it through the summer. I hope that happens, Mr. W.
Any chance they could be filming for pre-recorded performances (late night, Tony’s, etc)?

You mean the Tony Awards that aren't handed out until June 12th?
It is highly unlikely..sales would need to increase tenfold and sadly, that's near improbable.
Any updates on how to attend?
Im glad this and Beetlejuice are being filmed. I wish more shows would do this, but I have no idea how any of it works.
I got an ad on TikTok last night advertising the show coming back to Broadway this week. I'm thinkning it was from this taping?

I work at the Performing Arts Library. TOFT already taped Girl From the North Country last November. (A multi-camera shoot by the way, with close-ups, medium shots, and long shots.) Whatever is taking place tomorrow is not related to the library.

I got tickets. Definitely a full filming for release somewhere. They are running the show and then doing some scenes filmed from upstage/onstage.
