Not all recording stars' brilliance can be determined by "vocal consistancy." That's stupid.
She's brilliant (and people love her) because of her new, fresh sound - her mixing of 60's sould with current beats, her amusingly original lyrics - the whole package.
You'd be hard pressed to find a pop singer that has a perfectly "consistant" voice.

Crazy ironic that I just got her CD last night and this thread pops up. I personally don't think she's got the chops to do a Broadway show, but I do really like her voice and sound.

Oh my God! There are PLENTY of people being cast in Broadway musicals because of their celebrity and mainstream appeal. People who would never stand a CHANCE at a NYC chorus call! We don't need any more! I can't even stand the thought of another one.
