I apologize if it has already been posted, but the Tony website already has the full list of nominees:

https://www.tonyawards.com/en_US/nominees/index.html

UPDATE: the list is down. It seems that whoever in charge of the website put the list up by accident and realized it just now, lol. Check out the BWW list instead:

That said, great choices all around. CRY-BABY is the commercial choice.

It HAS to be a hacker because you're supposed to get emailed when they're available.

1) Arthur Laurents got his nod.

2) Why the love for Cry-Baby over Young Frankenstein.

3) Stephen Sondhem gets the Lifetime Achievement award!!!!!!!!!!

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

SERIOUSLY? Cry-Baby?

And at least Andrea Martin and Christopher Fitzgerald scored nominations.

Congrats CRY BABY!!!

While all the nay-sayers were like "what do outer critics know?"
and the "this will close before opening night" and "this will close now that the reviews were negative"...its up for Best Musical.

If I'm counting it right, South Pacific got 11 noms and Sunday got 9 noms. This is indeed the year of revivals!

edit: oh, and In The Height has 13 noms, Gypsy 7 noms. But don't quote me on these figures. :P Updated On: 5/13/08 at 08:37 AM

Cry-Baby being nominated doesn't mean it's a good show. It just means that they had to pick a commercial choice, and it was the lesser of 3 evils.
