Christina Applegate has been diagnosed with breast cancer, a rep for the 36-year-old Samantha Who? Emmy nominee announced late Saturday.
In full, the spokesperson's statement said:
"Christina Applegate was diagnosed with an early form of breast cancer. Benefiting from early detection through a doctor ordered MRI, the cancer is not life threatening."
The rep added: "Christina is following the recommended treatment of her doctors and will have a full recovery. No further statement will be issued at this time."
According to People Magazine. (Which doesn't mention, though, that her mother Nancy Priddy is a breast cancer survivor- Priddy was diagnosed when she was 37.)
Prayers for a full and speedy recovery.

I'm very happy they caught it early. My mother, aunt and grandmother are all survivors so I am very diligent about mammograms. Scary stuff.
Christina is in my thoughts and prayers.

Posted: 8/3/08 at 3:19pmi'm glad they caught it early as well. it's so important for women to get a mammogram done on a timely basis. early detection is the key. there's a better chance at fighting it in it's early stages. here's hoping for a swift recovery to a very talented lady.
