Multiple reports are now saying Harris will pick PA governor Josh Shapiro as her VP. Shapiro has cleared his weekend schedule and is expected to be with Harris on Monday.

The first DNC I remember was 1960, when I was 13.  JFK was chosen, but what has mostly stayed with me was my first glimpse of Jackie Kennedy.  Oh, my.

The increased energy and enthusiasm and love for the Democratic Party and Kamala is beyond anything I recall in all these years that I have paid attention to "politics".  This Convention is going to be one like none other, and I can't wait to watch every single moment of it.

He's actually refusing to debate Harris on ABC. Will only do so on Fox so he can have the questions make him look good. And the GOP is freaking out about Vance's wife being Indian.

Wait, the GOP is freaking out or the MAGA-OTS voting for them? Because I can see both things being true. The thing is, this woman hates public speaking and she doesn't want to be in the spotlight. But because he is tanking, he begged her to make a public statement about his incredible cat ladies statement (that is now part of the SUFFS marketing campaign which is so brilliant). 

She said "He made a quip in service of making a point that he wanted to make that was substantive. And I just wish sometimes that people would talk about those things and that we would spend a lot less time just sort of going through this three-word phrase or that three-word phrase, because what he was really saying is that it can be really hard to be a parent in this country, and sometimes our policies are designed in a way that make it even harder. And I also understand there are a lot of other reasons why people may choose not to have families, and many of those reasons are very good".

So basically she said nothing that any GOP voter could understand (cuz they dumb) and then at the end suggested some reasons to not have kids are NOT "very good".

I LOVE him as their VP candidate.

He is so mid-west, it hurts. Ha. Which is good because Kamala is the opposite. He is friendly, folksy, pretty dorky and shockingly Gen Z adores him. Minnesota was going to be blue anyway and she really needs PA to win, so I am a little surprised. But, I guess they thought America couldn't handle a WOC and a Jewish man running together? Walz is much more progressive than the very moderate Shapiro. Americans generally vote moderate so this also surprises me.

I look forward to the one VP debate in the Fall.

I was hoping Kamala Harris would choose someone with a solid military background. Tim Walz certainly has that, and then some.  I'm happy.

Reports say she didn't choose Shapiro because he's Jewish. Walz is getting the "picking the older guy" motto now and he'll have to deal with George Floyd & the BLM riots constantly being brought up now. He should still wreck Vance in a debate.

Veterans strongly vote for Republican so I think it's much more important that he was a teacher and values education. Far more Democrats care about that than any military service. 

But, teacher, veteran and Congressman plays well. However, he mishandled the BLM riots and will have to deal with that. Yes, she definitely picked the older guy, he certainly looks much older but people love voting for old white guys so... here we are!
