Her speech was most definitely affected by the grill. My nasty friends were all posting that her dentures must be loose. I was not happy. I noticed it immediately.
"The kid seems smart as a whip and keeps his mother at a healthy distance." -love Miss Sandra!
"The sexual energy between the mother and son really concerns me!"-random woman behind me at Next to Normal
"I want to meet him after and bang him!"-random woman who exposed her breasts at Rock of Ages, referring to James Carpinello
Loved the interview with Howard Stern. I have been listening to Howard every weekday for more than 20 years so this interview was a dream come true for me.
I bought my tickets for Madonna's Rebel Heart tour last week the minute the presale started. I've been listening to The Rebel Heart Super Deluxe version since last Tuesday. My favorite song is Ghosttown.
She just did the Jonathan Ross show over here (the whole hour was her) and looked fantastic and seemed very relaxed (no grill). She also performed Ghosttown and Living for Love remix and knocked them out of the park, her vocal on Ghosttown was superb.
Namo i love u but we get it already....you don't like Madonna
The 11 years between the stateside concerts of Blonde Ambition and Drowned World insured demand.
Her market has been saturated (and in another sense, soaked) with her recent every three years like clockwork schedule. But, you sell yourself to Live Nation and Guy Oseary and, well, you get the MONEY and then have to give the devil his due, no matter what damage it does to your (and I usually hate this term but it really does apply in this case) brand.
I really wanted to go to this but I don't want to spend hundreds of dollars for a seat that I'll probably just end up having to look up at the monitors to see it.
Isn't this exactly the same thing that was said about the MDNA tour when that started selling. Papers were claiming it wasn't selling and was going to be a flop, the same tour promoter denied this last time and the show pretty much sold out and added dates around the world. The tour will do fine, she always does.

Also are the tickets really more expensive than the MDNA tour? Here in the UK they are about £10 more. Floor seats next to the stage cost me 190 pounds, in Hyde Park for MDNA in the gold circle in front of the stage I paid £180

That's why she does so much for the gays. She knows how much you've personally blown on her.
As I said then, as I say now, I believe there will be bodies in the seats. I'm not sure I believe the financials as they are being reported to the entertainment press.
Sure Namo. Her tickets are bloody expensive but let's be honest, the last Celine Dion tour here in the UK the tickets were £178, do you bitch about her ticket prices? Fleeteood Mac were also hugely expensive, top price for Gaga was around £130 (60 pounds less yet she's had 3 albums out). Here in the UK she also has the lowest price cheap tickets of any major touring act at only £40. So calm down will ya, she ain't alone in high pricing. Do I wish she would bring the price down? Sure, they are far too much, but it's the same argument each tour.

I'm a huge-butt Madonna fan and I love her music and what she stands for...generally. It's the details that drive me crazy. Like when someone called her out on using the word "bitch" like I was fine if she had an articulate argument defending her use of the word, but instead she went on some anti-PC (which I hate because it's so simplistic) word police rant in one interview. Like I am sure she's thoughtful and smart, but she has lost awareness a long time ago. And the grill is another part of her not understanding things and rather be reflective, she just decides to play the whole "I'm used to offending people and people have just hated me for a long time so I'll do what I want despite what other people way" thing. Like I do think there's validity in that, but at the same time, she could do with more studying on many topics she touches on.
I also missed out on the chance to see her MDNA Concert back in my home town due to starting law school and I was too afraid of flying back down and missing too many days (which now I think is ridiculous) so I really want to see this concert when it hits MGS or Barclays just to see her. However, her last tour was just two years ago and I do think there is an over saturation. And this is from someone who didn't see her live yet. At least Sticky and Sweet was like three years after Confessions and MDNA was four years after Sticky and Sweet. That gave her people some time to build up interest. Even though I don't share Namo's disdain for Madonna being crass and yelling on stage, I do think she probably turned a few people off (like when she got booed in New Orleans for telling people to vote Obama). Also, her shows seem sort of interchangeable now. I mean they are well-produced, choreographed, and she really does try to integrate art, themes, political/sociological, and extravaganza to all her shows, so it'll be top notch. But...they seem very franchise-like now, right?
She had Girlie Show between Blonde Ambitions and Drowned World Tours. I saw Girlie Show at MSG in '93 and that still is my favorite tour of hers ( I have seen everyone of them from BA to MDNA)
I do love that GIRLIE SHOW dvd. I wish I could have seen that one live. I'm sure Fantod saw it, even though he wasn't born yet and has quite a lot to say about it.
Right, I left out the two shows she did in the US on The Girlie Show tour because she only did two shows.
Wrong, Lame-o! She did three: NYC, Philadelphia, Auburn Hills (Michigan).
Salve, Regina, Mater misericordiae
Vita, dulcedo, et spes nostra
Salve, Salve Regina
Ad te clamamus exsules filii Eva
Ad te suspiramus, gementes et flentes
O clemens O pia
Oh. My. God. You're right. That is so totally lame-o. And Oh. My. God. She did three shows in NYC which means five shows so that makes you a Lame-O too. Isn't it horrible how life twists and turns? PLUS she even did a show in Puerto Rico which technically should count in the US totals which just makes us EVEN MORE LAME-O.
I wonder why Madonna and her team knew she wouldn't sell anywhere else in the US on that tour? Why did she want to deny her brother the pleasure of showing off the last show of hers he ran before she married the homophobe?
God, can you imagine if she wore the grills on Ross' show? Would look like she's mocking his own speech impediment. Good call leaving them off. I haven't had time to watch the interview yet, but saw the performances. Agree with you, S&D, she was great. I have to say, the "Living for Love" remix is even growing on me and it's a stronger performance of that version than that Italian show she did. She looks confident and powerful again. And love the voguing. More of this Madonna, please.
Sidebar - I just watched the ending of the film A League of Their Own. While the credits are rolling, Madonna is singing a beautiful song, This Used to be My Playground (?) Anyway, this was long ago, but her voice is the best I heard, lol. No high whiny stuff, just what sounds like her comfortable range. Sad and lovely ending to the film.
Jane, seeing as you mentioned it previously, you might be interested to know that Madonna was asked about her brother in the UK interview HorseTears linked (Thanks, HT!) - it's at 33.20 if you don't want to watch the whole thing. They're speaking and on good terms again, apparently.
