Thanks Jay, I'd like to hear her side of it, for once.
Well it's only touched on briefly, but still.

"This Used to be My Playground"
Why did I think that was from the Joe Pesce is a homeless guy at Harvard movie? "With Honors". I had the single. As I used to remind people, I used to buy EVERYTHING she touched. Proper Grounds, Jose & Luis, EVERYTHING.
I don't let certain posts remain for very long.

That was "I'll Remember"...I love that song.
That's interesting, Jane.
I've never actually read the book. Have you?
I certainly did, Jay. I thought for some reason I might be in it. His boyfriend at the time was mentioned, but his name was changed.
I have to say I HATE the song This Used to Be My Playground, I know I'm one of the only ones but I just think it's dreadful. I did like I'll Remember from With Honours
The album has gone in at number 2 here in the UK missing out on the number one spot because of the huge sales surge of Sam Smith for Mother's Day.

I hate This Used to be my Playground too. That song is so lethargic.
It's one of her best songs.
You are wrong in your opinion. Very wrong.

Oh yeah. I didn't remember I'll Remember but I loved that one.
Sorry Jordan, It just always made me cringe. It did always make me laugh that just a few months later she released Erotica, talk about diverse.

"Being that it refers to a long ago lost time which held a place in her heart, it's quite fitting."
"This Used To Be My Playground" is a haunting song. I don't think it was a great tie-in to the film. If it were a stand alone on an album, it would have more impact.
^ wow. I see it so differently. While they played it, you saw footage of the past, you know, corny stuff, but it was just right for the mood. The girls playing on the field, fighting, laughing crying, etc. Totally about the field and those days. Meanwhile she's singing this used to be my playground. Worked for me.
Childhood favorite, so maybe I've got rose colored glasses on, but I'm with Jane.

I'm with Jane and Horsey. I thought the song went perfectly with the ending of the film. If I recall correctly, I shed a tear or two.

I really felt it too, Art Man. It was because it had such a strong tie in to the story that I had to make my comment. So now I had to download her song!
The tour seems to be selling well in the UK, London, Manchester and Birmingham sold out within 90 mins. Italy sold out in a few minutes
I finally heard the album yesterday. I had been avoiding all clips, leaks, and singles so I could give it my attention and hear it as one complete project.
I'm one of those who hasn't liked any of her stuff since Ray of Light, but I always said if she ever made an album again that I liked I'd be the first to admit it.
I happily admit that I loved Rebel Heart! There isn't a song on there I'd cut out.
Welcome back Madge.
I'm a huge-butt Madonna fan and I love her music and what she stands for...generally.
What does she stand for? Someone should probably tell her.

Finally got to listen to Rebel Heart over the weekend uninterrupted. Got the deluxeEdition with 25 tracks.
I feel the songs on the deluxe far surpass some of the few clunky ones in the 19 track version.
it is amazing on a good set of headphones.
Really enjoy this album a lot and its many earworms to sit with.
Joan of Arc, Body Shop, Holy Water, Grafitti Heart, Inside Out, Veni Vidi Vici, Messiah, Addicted, Ghosttown and Rebel Heart, Heartbreak City, Hold Tight are my faves.
Although I don't agree with some of the production changes from the demos- It's nice to know the song was still created. I am enjoying this album as much as I enjoyed 'True Blue'. In terms of its diverse sounds,... I think this album embraces the diversity that True Blue did in its day. Which is why I enjoy it so much.

Agree with both Taz and taboo. I am loving this album. I'd add Best Night to your list Taboo.
The only song on the album I'd get rid of is S.E.X.
