I saw the advanced screening on Monday evening. I loved it! I found it very similar to the original movies, especially in terms of the acting. I was worried that they were going to completely destroy Superman, but they really stayed true to it. All of the modernizations were great and there weren't way too many of them, which is a good thing.

And I think I had multiple orgasms watching Brandon Routh. Damn, he's sexy.

I saw it Monday, too.
I really enjoyed it very much! Not a perfect movie, but a very enjoyable one. Great summer film. I'd like to see it in IMAX 3D now.

It was better than I expected, but too long and too loud. Routh is practically channeling Reeves, at times it is eerie. Credits are great, though. Does anyone know if they are in 3-D?

PEACE.

I have no desire to see this, but I'll probably see it this weekend or something.

Can't wait for STRANGERS WITH CANDY this evening!

The 3D IMAX presentation is just partial 3D, correct? I mean, just certain scenes. Anyone know the aspect ratio of the film, not in IMAX? My issue witht he IMAX presentations, is that IMAX is high, not wide, and to properly present it, widescreen films have to be cropped on the sides.

This is quite the threadjack, but why does it say that STRANGERS WITH CANDY opens in NYC today - but according to all the sites, it's not playing at any theatres.

I am annoyed.

Yeah, those Superman credits in 3D and on a huge screen may make me duck on the floor.

Serious threadjack...
I'm seeing previews of A Scanner Darkly tonight, which should be technically interesting anyway (I hope). I love Robert Downey, Jr.
.... and The Devil Wears Prada tomorrow, which should be fun.

I LOVED the opening credits! My friends and I agreed that they were quite entertaining and they definitely got us hyped for the actual film.

I thought the casting, directing, and visuals were great. The dialogue itself was strong, but the story could have been much better. It felt cobbled together from bits and pieces - like they were hitting markers of where the story should go along the way rather than have any actual flow.

They should have stuck with the music from the original also - the flying music was a POOR substitute for the original!

The line Superman has after the plane scene (don't want to give anything away) was PERFECT cheesy Christopher Reeve type line-reading.

Haha, I remember when Brandon played Seth on OLTL. He was not very good. He has definitely improved since then. I saw the movie last night, and I really enjoyed it.

Pillowpants. 'Nuff said.

Just got back. I guess I expected a little more of what it would be, but I liked it. The story lacked a real flow to it I felt, but the acting was terrific and I otherwise really enjoyed it.
I still find Spiderman to be the best superhero film made of recent, but did anyone see the Spiderman 3 trailer?! Wow that is going to be something, I saw the trailer and almost died. I don't think I can wait that long. I do hope they make another Superman movie as well.

I loved the whole movie too, but I just thought the director hacked up Marlon Brando's lines and put them in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I just got back...

Adored Kevin Spacey. Surprised by Bosworth.

The movie was just okay...WAY too long. There could have been so many cuts.

Wonderful special effects, but not much else.

I freakin' LOVED this movie. I was going to go see it in the IMAX 3D tomorrow, but I am going to go see THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA tomorrow with a group of people, so I went and saw it yesterday in the regular movie theater. And jerby . . . what about the SPIDER-MAN 3 trailer? WOW!
